Staff are nice and friendly. They smile all the time and they helped me with all my questions.

Affordable prices and most important of all they get to work done quickly (same day and often within an hour). This matters when you are a food delivery person because when you don't have your bike you don't make money. Other shops take too long to do anything.

This shop is now my go tobfor flat tires, break repairs, etc

I am submitting this 5 star review on behalf of a customer who paid $45 for replacing an inner tube on an ebike rear wheel (electric hub motor in rear) same day. That's a fair price.

Also, as a bike mechanic myself, and reading the list of google reviews I feel that a few of the 1-star entries are not justified. This is just my opinion, after reading the words from the reviewer and the corresponding reply from U.Jacobs.

Got new wheels, tires and a freewheel for my road bike here this week. Have to say excellent communication and service. Their prices are some of the best I've encountered in the downtown core, priced this job in a few places and they were definitely the best value. Thank you!

My favourite bike store in town. They have a nice range of ebikes at various price points and are very good with servicing and repairing any problems. I've purchased two ebikes from them over the last couple of years and have always been satisfied with the help and service that they provide.

A very kind mechanic in my experience. Got my bike fixed in less than 1 hour and guess how much it cost? Only $5.65. Any other bike shop would have charged me atleast $20-30 for the same issue.

This is the first time I am seeing honest bike shop, these guys they don't lie and never overpriced, I went there to change inner motor which cost $100 but after inspection they found there is a lose wire and they charged me only that wire price which is $15 , the guy in the counter is very honest man.

It was great. Make sure to go in the morning when there are less customers. The guys there are really helpful and take care of your bike. Got a full tune up of my bike for the summer for 50$. Definitely gonna go there if I have any issues with my bike.

I have had a great experience every time. When you buy a bike from these guys you can come in and use their air pump, ask them questions, I've been given some excellent advice from the people at this shop.

If you can deal with an attitude less conventional than Canadian Tire would give you, then trust me, go to uncle Jacob for your cycling needs.

Uncle Jacob is one of the great legends of Spadina Avenue. His shop is just across the street from Kensington Market located at the north end of Chinatown. His business was once a general used merchandise store but has since become an all out used bicycle shop with some very new looking bikes mixed in with the rest. His staff is courteous and very helpful. My wife and I visited the back of the store where they do repairs and tune-ups and we were very impressed with the bicycle mechanic who was tuning up the newly bought bike for my wife. Okay, maybe this is not your perfect shiny new bike shop; but, from my experience, this place is a ton of fun to visit. This is vintage Toronto.

I purchased a 3000w 72v 34a battery electric bike at this store and it is the best bike I ever owned and the best service I ever got,they helped me put it in the car no questions asked and fast service in and out,if you want a great bike and great service shop here.

I got an upper price range bike a while ago after having done my research , and found the price to be very fair. I believe I dealt with the owner Jacob, an older guy who was quite funny and straight talking although not exactly with a polished "Oxford English". He let me test drive the bike and never pushed me into buying it. Eccentric he was, but I felt he was very honest-no BS from him!
I just had a flat tire and went back to the store to get it fixed. Although it was quite busy I received immediate attention and got it fixed while waiting. I have dealt with other bike shops in Toronto over the years but I won't go elsewhere as I trust this place a lot.

Wonderful store. I recently bought an e-bike, I am very pleased with the quality of service! Great, wonderful, well assembled and serviced, perfect for me. They helped me with the choice of the model, customized it for me, brought it up to date. I recommend it to everyone!

Got a last minute tune up in 1 day. Came out better than the last 5 tune ups elsewhere. Friendly service and great prices. Old school shop. Just today was looking for some back up wheels, again, friendly service, good selection and reasonable prices!! Love these guys.

My go-to bike shop downtown. Staff are super helpful, great tune up price n quality. Great selection of bikes and accessories; they also sell e-bikes now. Ask for Min (great dude)

man in this "politically correct" society all these people are complaining like "oh he didn't borrow me a wrench" like who cares...this guys may not have the best professional attitude but the give stuff for good price, i bought a pair or clipper brakes for $15 like where else in Toronto would u find that with all these other money hungry shops around charging 10 bucks for a darn brake cable...just go there, ask for what you need...get the good price. don't expect professional advice because these guys r here to do business and tbh if you r nice to them they will be nice to you.

Dealt with Jacob and another individual that worked there to buy a brand new single speed bike. They we're very understanding of my needs and even brought me into the basement to check out a couple bikes more my speed. Would definitely recommend Uncle Jacob when looking for a new or used bicycle in the city. A lot of the bike stores in the downtown core charge an arm and a leg, but you get a good, fair price here.
