Mariposa built me my dream bike and it’s nothing short of amazing. Dede was great with communication and all the questions and concerns I had during the process and after the bike was delivered. The service was impeccable and everything was done right, I can’t say enough good things about all the help I received.

This company builds racing bicycles.
Even though it wasn’t the company’s main concern, they very kind and fixed my bicycle (which was stuffed in my car) by putting two sets of tyres and assembling it.
It was ready in a few hours!!!
This may have been a one-off bicycle-fixing for them but their kindness saved my day.

I recently just got into cycling and fell in love with it. So much so that I started gathering parts for 2 builds for my gf and me. It took me 4 months or so due to the pandemic. Once I got all the parts I went to Mariposa to assist with the builds. The shop is gorgeous. I was greeted by Michael who is super chill and friendly. We spoke about what I wanted to do and I proceeded to bring the boxes of parts/frames in. Michael didn't even flinch. Stated the builds will be ready in less than a week. In the next couple of days Michael would call me and keep me updated on the progress of the builds (I was missing some parts or some components weren't compatible but Michael tracked down the parts and remedied any hiccups no problem). The bikes were ready in less than a week and we are blown away. Expertly built and they ride amazing. I've had my bike less than a week and I've rode 250km. Smooth and fast as hell.
This shop is Amazing! They are friendly and super knowledgeable. They build their own frames and have their own branded kits.
I recently found out via Instagram that Michael is a former pro cyclist and Olympian... so yea go to Mariposa for your cycling needs. You'll be well taken care of.

I had a small but vital repair needed to a wheelchair. The original plan was for me to take the chair to their shop, they'd look at it and decide if they could help, and then book me an appointment. But when I arrived, they actually did the work on the spot and saved me a second trip. These two are my heroes for the day. Thank you.

Mariposa and Bicycle Specialties are simply a cycling legacy and instution of know-how, experience, insight, mechanical skills and full on passion for all things two wheeled. I love making trips to the shop, and it is amazing to see the owners out on their bikes commuting to work, at local group rides, or shredding the Don Valley trails. If you are looking for amazing custom bikes, or need help with special projects like wheel builds, tubular gluing or paint jobs that make old bikes seem like new, then this is the place for you.

Met Mike Sr. only once and a true gentleman he was. He was personal friends with my uncle and allowed us to stay with him for a few days on our way to London via Toronto. My uncle bought a Mariposa track frame built by Mike and Tom Hinton. When my uncle passed away I purchased the frame from his daughter and I cherish it until this day. Beautiful quality and build.

A fantastic shop that is hidden away, but well worth it! Dee Dee and Pete were amazing and helped me fix a vintage Miyata that I have been having trouble with for a while. I had taken it to 2 other shops who could not find the part/fix it, but they were able to do it on the same day!

They fixed up my bike quickly and were affordable. I look forward to going back, and would highly recommend this shop!

Great store for Canadians looking to buy some vintage touring/road inspired products and bikes. Prices are very competitive and shipping cost is reasonable.

A long, long time ago, before I owned a bicycle shop, this is the place I went to buy stuff and get advice.

Popped a tire and this was the nearest store. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Excellent service. Only had my phone and was able to use Apple Pay. I highly recommend this store! They know their bikes!

I’ve been meaning to write a review for some time now. If you have a vintage steel bike in need of some love look no further. Mariposa/ Bicycle Specialties is a family owned shop run by a couple work class cyclists.
I have a bike from the late 80’s that was built up with campagnolo components. The bottom bracket, headset and freewheel all needed work. The shop has both used and NOS components that are typically not easily sourced easily or at least quickly.
Toronto lucky to have a bike shop that can build beautiful custom bikes, do quality work on vintage bikes and is loaded with history. Thanks!!

Beautiful bike shop hidden in a single story complex. Went in for some stuff for a bike build and she didn't try to upsell me. Definitely would go back when I need more parts.

Mariposa are long weekend savers!

When 3 other stores, including my regular one (where I've spent thousands of dollars) couldn't get a new front derailleur cable replaced in a rush, I called Dede and she said bring it in we'll get it done today.

It was done within an hour and my long weekend of riding was saved!

Was there to fix a punctured tire. Got it done in about 15 minutes. And price is reasonable. Excellent service.
