The Dinner Plate

My first time here. Wish I had known about this place over the last 25+ years on the road. I had the roast turkey dinner. It was delicious! Turkey was very moist and tender. The staff were fantastic too! Prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town.

Small place on a back street. Ratings were good. Not a lot on atmosphere but clean and excellent food. Waitress was very good but didn't keep our drinks filled but was friendly and helpful with our menu choices. Would definitely go back for the excellent food. My husband said the chowder was the best he had in Nova Scotia! And the Rappie Pie was a new experience that we loved!

I’m sure I’ll spell her name wrong but my server Crystal was fantastic. Would recommend if people want a nice relaxed atmosphere with great food come here. I had the scallops and haddock and the lobster poutine. Everything tasted amazing

This place was a great hidden gem my coworkers shared with me as we came down to work in the area. So far have had the turkey dinner & the daddys burger with their onion rings. All were delicious. My coworkers have raved about the lobster poutine, scallops and calamari, hot turkey sandwiches, lemon cake, and their coconut creme pie. Also had their hot brownie and it was delicious.

The prices are great and very affordable and still great quality and can be large quantities (depending on the item) of food. The staff is super friendly, and very welcoming atmosphere and there's a great view across the road. Also beautiful paintings for sale on the wall.

Definitely worth checking out if you are in the Yarmouth area.

Ordered Fish Galore (22.95$+Tax): 2 Pieces of Haddock, 3-4 Pieces of Scallops, and Lots of Clams 😋. Served with Fries 🍟, a Tiny Coleslaw, and a squeeze bottle of Tartar Sauce😳.

What a find this place was! We stayed overnight in Yarmouth and had supper at The Dinner Plate. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming. The service was fast and food was amazing. My husband had the bread pudding for desert. It's his favorite and orders it everywhere we go and he said this one, by far, is his favorite. When it was placed in front of him, all you could smell was warm nutmeg. It was Thanksgiving and Christmas presented in a bowl. Wish we could give more than 5 stars! Can't wait to come back for another visit.

Loved this home town diner! Food was excellent and service was attentive. Prices are reasonable and the bathrooms are clean. Can't ask for much more!

Great service they were very busy, and still able to provide first class service. The meal was great. If your in the area don't let the outside fool you , you will be treated to a great meal and excellent service.

Visiting from Victoria BC, stopped into this little place for lunch. Seafood chowder to die for!! Honestly, the best we have ever had!!! Highly recommend!

So it's been over a year now, we have been frequenting this establishment. We love it here. Food is consistently tasty , service is always great , and we get treated like family. Thank you for making each visit enjoyable!

A really pleasant diner. Do not eat here if you have a seafood allergy. On the other hand some really good poutine.

The food there was really good. Their lobster poutine is a must try.

Fish and chips was good!! The only thing I wish is that they made Homemade fries.

Ordered a lobster poutine and the special of the day, " turkey dinner". Must say was absolutely delighted with the food. My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed the homely atmosphere, friendly staff and on top of everything the delicious food. Absolutely bang for the buck. Forgot to click pictures of the food but here is one of the bread pudding. Go and you shall be rewarded with a full tummy and smile on your face.

The foods and service was very good. We had a club, hot turkey and fish galore, it was served hot and delicious. I had the club, $10, good price.
Strawberry rhubarb crumble with vanilla icecream was also great.

Hole-in-the-wall, mom & pop, or off-the-beaten-path don't do this place justice. Those descriptions are too clitche.
