The Shanty Café

We were seated and ordered our food within minutes of entering the café. Food arrived exactly as ordered - they use a tablet, so be patient when you are a picky eater like me, lol!

Our food was wonderful, and as you can see from the picture, the portions are huge. My mom's breakfast was already half eaten when I took the picture. They have an all day breakfast. The only downside I saw was there was no kids menu or small activities like coloring for kids.

We tried their cappuccino and drip coffee both were strong and fresh. The cafe seems to be a local popular, it was packed on a Monday morning! The server was a nice and courteous. Unfortunately didn't get to eat any there since we had already had our breakfast at home but definitely going back if we do visit Yarmouth in the future.

Wonderful spot, whole family enjoyed the friendly service, delicious food and Nova Scotia vibes. Excellent and extensive menu. As of Nov 30, 2022 they're open 7am-2pm, closed evenings and weekends. Manager I spoke with send hrs will be extended for Spring and Summer seasons. Please give them a visit and enjoy!

Great quality food 🥘. Love the cuban croquetas, as well as the homemade black beans. The service here is amazing. I became a regular 😂

This is one of my favourite restaurants. Freshly made, delicious food, lovely, friendly team members, and the whole place emanates kindness. There is a selection of vegetarian and gluten free options, for those with dietary restrictions.

The breakfast is inexpensive, large portions, and always tasty.

The staff are wonderful.

I was lucky to have a voucher from performing for music week, the food was delicious! The waitresses were quite very friendly as well! Lastly the music and atmosphere in there is wonderful and it seems very tidy.

Highly recommend you stop by shanty cafe if you are passing by in Yarmouth for a nice breakfast and lunch!

Such a great spot in Yarmouth! I visited while on the Yarmouth Goodie Walking Tour and loved the cooperative concept and the incredible food available here. Definitely a must eat at spot in Yarmouth! Be sure to check out their store next door.

My dad and I enjoyed the Breakfast Sandwich which included a homemade sandwich bun with a mini-omelet, bacon, cheddar cheese, and real mayo. It was delicious!

Lovely breakfast or lunch place. We had a traditional breakfast and mine came with 3 long and superbly delicious sausages! Very filling. Kind and chatty staff were much appreciated.

Food was absolutely delicious, me and my partner were both full and happy by the time we left. But the real praise here should go to the service. Our waitress was absolutely amazing, super kind, very friendly, and made sure to get us everything we asked for. When we packed up, she brought an extra cup of coffee in a to go mug for my partner. It was wonderful

This is not your regular boring cafe. This has the best selection of homemade food from breakfast to lunch that offers so much more than your standard cafe selection. As a vegetarian I find a lot of meals tired, this place had such a twist with Cuban and Indian flare. I could not believe the quality of the food and service provided. If it was open 7 days we would have come here every meal of our short stay.

I love this concept. A “Social Enterprise” restaurant that hire at risk individuals and gives them an opportunity to thrive. Kara”the blue tipped hair” is a sweetheart! And the just baked blueberry lemon donuts are AMAZING!

Went with my mom for lunch… I have a new fave spot in town… wow this was amazing huge shout out to the apple ginger soup that is to DIE for!

We LOVED this stop for breakfast. Our server, Kara, from the moment we walked in was delightful and welcoming. The homemade bread was great and breakfast overall was DELICIOUS.

Fresh ingredients. Flavorful food. We loved our lunch. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. Highly recommend to anyone interested in fresh and healthy food choices. The seafood chowder is sublime!

Got the Thor Burger on a whole wheat bun with a side of beet salad. It was delicious and healthy. Great quality food! And very friendly service.

The people working were so friendly! They went out of their way to check if the veggie options could be made vegan. The food was healthy, and they brought out literal recipe books for everything from my burger to the bread it was on. Fresh fresh fresh.
