Harv’s Place

My family went stopped by there for the first time last night on our way home and what a great little gem. I ordered the mushroom caps, along with the meatloaf dinner special.

The mushrooms were just as I expected them to be, deep fried with a pop of juice and flavour when eaten. What I didn’t expect was the meatloaf dinner to be as large as it was, and quite frankly, as good as it was.

The meatloaf while simple in added ingredients (which is a bonus in my books) was flavourful and quite enjoyable. The mashed potatoes are distinctively homemade with a little seasoning leaving you room to add your own or not. For me, the peas were the least favourite part of the dish as they tasted as though they were from a can, but given the meatloaf and mashed potatoes, I didn’t really care.

The over all atmosphere of the diner was small, intimate, with a feeling of walking into grandma’s house for dinner. It was clean, and featured inviting artwork for decor.

For me, the waitress was personable, allowed for time to enjoy food before asking if it was ok, and over all was pleasant and continued the feeling of being at grandma’s house for dinner with informal service, which is what I would expect from a diner.

I would highly recommend this diner for anyone looking for a great meal that includes good portion sizes, a personable wait experience, clean environment. The great prices of the food is pure bonus!

Great timing is happening upon Harv's Place when Lobster Poutine is a special of the day! My wife had haddock with onion rings, and loved every bite. We also split a piece of Harv's homemade peanut butter pie. It was light, fluffy, and packed with intense peanut buttery flavor. Great place with great service.

Love the place. Good food good prices. The girls are awesome. I will keep going there.

It is not a fancy place but when you are served great food it really doesn't matter.
Our waitress was awesome 👌 she was wonderful with us my husband had the burger and fries he said it was one of the best he has had, I had the special fish clam and fries very good.
It was a farley busy place and there was no wate.
We will surely be back.

Melissa was running the show solo and did an excellent job, making our visit extra special. The little details, like splitting our "bowl" of chowder into 2 cups because she heard us say we would share, shows great attention to detail and care for the customers.

First time trying creamed lobster and it was super good, together with the super light yet crunchy batter on the haddock was so delicious I wish I'd ordered two specials! It even included a slice of pie, making a $15.75 meal feel like it should have been $30+ easy.

The fish chowder was also amazing, with tiny cubed potatoes and such intense yet not overpowering flavour, I cannot recommend it enough.

Shrimp and scallops were fresh and delicious

OMG the clams were delicious and my daughter had lobster poutin and i tried it for the first time. It was amazing. A must try.

A++ for me. fresh fish expertly fried (right oil temperature meant the fish was not soggy or greasy and no bitter oil aftertaste detected which meant they used fresh oil) I hope they are consistently this good. very reasonably priced too

the portions are huge, and definitely worth the money, for the prices you wouldn't think they would be as big as there.. just awesome

Wow. what a hidden gem. I like what I like but I like to switch up where I get it. and wow what a treat. The fish was delightful. Sorry no picture because once i dove in i wasn't stopping to take a picture.

the fish was a delightfully light dry battered and fresh as fresh could be. and the portion?! wow a large fish in chips for that price! so awesome!

Loved this place. The food was awesome and the service even better. We had the seafood platter for two and we could could not eat it all. (And I really like to eat)

Harv's is a genuine old school diner. The food, especially the English Style Fish 'N Chips is uniformly delicious.

Always a wonderful meal. Second time here for take-out. Won't be the last!

Arguably the best fish and chips in Yarmouth. The portions are HUGE. We usually share a large order. One of these days I am going to try one of their pies
