Such a clean place! I bought cross country ski boots. Lots of options. Very knowledgeable staff! Thr underground parking is awesome!

I needed a set of XC skis that worked for a heavier skier. Joanna in the ski dept explained the pros and cons of the new technologies, and then checked the flex/clearance for my weight on the test table, to select skis with skins and adjustable bindings delivering good glide and grip. It is a great store for outdoor adventurers. Not cheap. But quality stuff you won't find in another store. Yes, we did purchase several gears, clothes, and services there. Always check discounts. Last summer, we found a super winter coat for my wife for 25% of the original price. 😀. We are recommending MEC!

Stocked. Not a lot of kayaks are on display but you can order from their website.
Bike selection is great. Accessories are plenty. There’s a bike shop here. The staff are very willing to answer your questions and give you pointers. I like this store.

I brought my new skis in to get the phantom glide applied and to have the bindings mounted and set up. Steven is super knowledgeable and helpful and did a great job on the skis. I had a very good experience for the prompt and excellent service.

Have purchased gym shoes, finger toe shoes, spring jackets and sports bras over past few years. Service is consistently on the high end along with demonstration of high expertise and diligence in finding my size if not in-store and getting it to me soon after.

I went in to get a backpack for an upcoming hiking trip. I grabbed a couple I thought would do to compare. I asked the staff member there to answer a couple of questions. He took time to talk about my needs, adjusted two packs for fit, and made sure I was leaving with the right one. Fantastic and thorough service!

Denis from the bike mechanic is the best and one of the coolest 😎 guy. Professional, knowledgeable, and you can count on him to get your gear run in no time. Fast and furious 😂🤣😂just want to say that. Others staff was okay and some walk by you. Jason was cool ask if we need help. Today was my second time visiting with two different bike both experienced was a top-notch credit to Denis. Looking forward to see you next visit. Hope he get acknowledged credit or promotion. He is definitely a keeper. Hard working 💪 guy. If I pay a visit I only want him to look after my toys. I know he will ensure our safety is number one. Thank you! An absolutely super store for all of your hiking needs, as well as for many other sports you may be pursuing. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

North York MEC is an amazing outdoor activity shop full of products (from the house brand to international names) that adhere to a respectful environmental and social justice philosophy.

There is some crossover of products as found in places such as Canadian Tire and Sail but there are also products you would need to source out from online otherwise. I really like their biking, hiking and camping selection.

Some good helpful people here too who know their stuff and are willing to share their knowledge and opinions.

This location of MEC has nearby subway access, just like downtown, but it also has fairly good proximity to Hwy 401 and 404/DVP. And FREE parking outside in front of the store (three spots) and TWO roomy levels of parking directly under the store! You are not getting that downtown.

I highly recommend coming here if you are looking to do some backpacking or traveling and for fill all of your traveling needs! We decided to come here with no knowledge in all of how to begin looking for backpacks to go backpacking through Southeast Asia next month and all of the employees there have a wealth of knowledge and were able to guide us in the right direction! We are thrilled with the level of quality and service that they provide and will definitely be coming back for all of our future traveling needs

This MEC store is great. It was clean and spacious. There was lots of " Equipment " on the 1st floor and " Clothes and Accessories " on the 2nd floor. There is stair and elevator access to the 2nd floor. In addition there is washrooms on both floors and a 2 level underground parking lot with stair and elevator access ( access from the back off of Sheppard, low clearance on the ramp )

Steven is fantastic! Hes so kind and knowledgable he also recommended me a skiing store and told me the benefits. He is the best. Thanks steven for making this a wonderful weekend

When I was purchasing climbing shoes at MEC, the store assistant Jessie (hope I spell his name correctly) provided an exceptional level of assistance, and I am truly grateful to him. His profound knowledge of climbing shoes proved invaluable as he meticulously explained the features of various models and patiently addressed all my inquiries. Jessie's enthusiasm and dedication made the entire shopping experience delightful, and I feel fortunate to have encountered such an outstanding salesperson during my purchase. The bike repair service was very good. I needed a new chain and brake pads. They found a few other problems and made suggestions to fix them. I also wanted to raise the handle bars and they were able to find a new quill stem to increase the height. The staff is competent and knowledgeable. They were busy so it took almost a week to complete the repairs. Overall it was a very positive experience.

Great place, come here all the time. Steven is “the man” for knowing about bikes.
