My regular spot to stop on my way home from work. They have all the usual products, usually not too bad pricing

Good food at good prices. Variety of International foods, also cater well for gluten free.

Unsure of the validity of the other reviews - I’ve been going to this location since I was a kid and never had any of the strange issues they have had. Store could use more of a cleaning, but shelves are always stocked, it’s quiet and not busy, cashiers have always been friendly and by far the best prices around. Maybe the strange customers are ones the strange issues 🤷🏻‍♀

Good place for groceries n good prices.

I prefer the Basics located at Wentworth and Rymal in Hamilton.The store is clean and well stocked. The floor staff are friendly and help you find what you're looking for. I love their hot cooked Maple Lodge chicken. They have Halal and regular. Makes for a delicious dinner at 9.97. I boiled red skinned baby potatoes with pepper and a pat of butter. Instead of a hot veggie side I cut up a vine ripened tomato topped with a dab of ranch dressing. Bought the tomato at Basics.

Colleen the cashier was amazing. She was fun and upbeat as I was checking out then when I was short change for another bag she pulled it from her own pocket. 10/10

Clean well run discount grocery store.
I started shopping here for my Mom and it was the winter pre pandemic. I watched as COVID-19 hit and I became more and more familiar with the store. Some of the long term staff are incredible human beings with a very good work ethic.

Well kept, produce looked healthy, although I didn't give it a shop experience. Would recommend.

Been a long time since I moved away but the store is fantastic, clean, easy finding things. Same clerk still working there.

Good place to shop for cheap, there was a local hero here that actually saved an old lady that went missing in the area for a while. I must commend the kid’s effort for saving this women. She was stuck in the parking lot in her vehicle needing assistance, we need more people like this. Overall, this place is amazing! They have Christmas events and let us decorate cookies during this season. They give out hot chocolate and apple cider during the coldest season of the year. Thank you!

I enjoyed this supermarket was not to busy and customer service was available. We visited this week during the crazy sale im hopping there meat prices stay this competitive.

Clean, good staff, generally well stocked... Can't believe its a food basics...

I love Food Basics!!! It's the only grocery store which sells ground oregano and my favorite EVOO by Colavita!!!

Important part of the community.....offers better prices of course than Metro or RealCan. There are no frills in this store, but you understand why.

Good selection, produce quality is usually decent and pricing is fair. Overall a nice discount supermarket with friendly staff and good layout.

The staff are very courteous and extremely helpful. I'm not always able to get around well, sometimes the do the footwork for me.

Always so friendly and fast cashiers! Fantastic food prices and watch their flyer for real food deals too!

The meat tastes great, whoever works at the meat department must have great triceps 💪
