While exploring the Cabot Trail this was our stay for the night; and I cannot recommend it enough. It's off the highway by a ways but it's just gorgeous.

We stayed in one of the cabins and loved our stay. It was clean, well-built, offered a beautiful view with a lovely little private deck.

Absolutely worth the stop as your stay on the trail!

We made the trip up to Meat Cove Campground with our family of 6 and it didn't disappoint. We loved our site, the view and the friendly staff. Heading down to the beach and swimming around to the private beach was a memory we'll cherish forever. Just wish we could've stayed longer. Next time.

Take your time on your drive to get there (the road is in bad condition). The camping is family owned and SO friendly <3

Go see the sunset on the left from the short (20 minutes) hike. You might be lucky enough to see minke whales ;)

Pick a tent on the right side, facing the beach. You will be able to take pictures on the sunrise from your tent ;)

Do not eat the lobster / crab rolls. It's expensive and not tasty. The chowder however is worth its price !

They recently renovated the toilets / showers and it's nice and clean.

It was nice to walk the beach down the cliff.

We were there during low season so there were not that many people, but we can easily imagine this place being super crowded because it is worth it.

This is one of the most beautiful campgrounds in eastern Canada. Great facilities, food truck is a nice touch. The tent and trailer sites are on a cliff overlooking the cove/beach. There is cell phone service as well. Warning: road access to this campground is rough. Huge pot holes and wash out. Don’t suggest cars with very low clearance. We made it fine with Subaru cross trek.

Visited the Camp with All Boys group. Enjoyed it to the core. It's a BIG Yes for anyone would like to get a budget trip with a decent stay. The room was adequate, the washrooms were clean and was available with ample supplies of necessities. The camp site has a wonderful view to the mountain and the beach. The natural music created by the water just before meeting the ocean was amazing. Sit back and relax, keep a few things while traveling:

1. Extra pairs of shoe and flip flops
2. Warm clothes and water resistant jackets
3. Mosquito repellant
4. Binoculars
5. A powerful torch light

The WiFi was weak and also be prepared for Less or No Network connectivity.

Overall, the place is awesome and the staff is friendly - I give 5 Star rating to this place!!!!

Might be the best views in all of Cape Breton Island. Stunning as always. The coast is rough and loud. The cliffs are tall and beautiful, the seaglass is plentiful and well worn. The fish and chips is delicious. The drive is spectacular. And the sunset was unparalleled

People were very friendly! the owners were kind and accommodating. The cabins and bathrooms were clean and the view was phenomenal. The hikes were intense but definitely worth it when you see the view at the top. My family and I will definitely be back here. We love Meat cove!

Meat Cove is a MUST experience! The scenery, amazing food and people, make it a true destination spot to sooth senses and relax in the natural beauty of Cape Breton! The Chowder Hut/Lawless Lobster are out of this world as master chef Eileen and her husband are the coolest people you will ever meet with a recipe for chowder and lobster sandwiches that will blow your mind! To top everything off, the scenery is GORGEOUS with a cove beach that leaves one in awe! There are camping spots and plenty of hiking trails! Our family/team at PhotographingInTheMoment (insta) #photographinginthemoment absolutely loved the experience and will be back soon!!

The place was unexpected for us to go to but, we liked to go for an adventure since we were in the area in Cabot Trail Cape Breton Island. And of course, we ended up camping there. The place, view and the beach an Atlantic Ocean will be worth it to enjoy your stay. The most amazing place to spend your vacation. The washrooms was so clean and around the campsite. Also, a staff in the office was very nice, kind, helpful and approachable. Make sure to book your site before going there.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay here in one of the cabins. The night sky especially was outstanding. Feels like the edge of the world. Very beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit !! Breathtaking with the high cliffs and mountains against the ocean !!
Justin on staff , was awesome and found us the perfect spot for our last minute overnight "car camping " trip. He was friendly and helpful and even delivered our wood. We are seniors and are unable to lift much and he helped us out !!
We loved the experience and will never forget our stay. Mother nature was showing off with a red harvest moon , starry night and even a cruiseship sailing by in the moonlight rays on the ocean.
Next morning we combed the beach enjoyed many beautiful pics we captured.
We later our travel down the road , just outside the campground , we cane upon a pod of long fin pilot whales . We watched them for 15 mins till they swam out to far to see.
The whole experience was surreal !!
Highly recommend to anyone 👌 👍 👏

The woman at the front desk gave us a lot of information about what to do in the area. She told us about a couple of hikes and went over where everything was located at the campground. It was first come first serve and we arrived around 2 and had 3 tenting sites to choose from. It's a unique camping experience on a grassy hill/ cliff overlooking the ocean and absolutely beautiful. Everyone there seemed very nice. The washroom and shower facilities were nice and clean and also had a dishwashing station.

Stayed here many years ago when wandering through the area in the depths of winter. Saw it on a map and something drew me there... arrived to find it was closed for winter but the owners were amazing and let me stay regardless without fee. One of the most awesome places to stay with a lovely view. Would love to go back!

The view of this campground is OMG, spectacular 😍. I was planning to stay for a night but I had a meeting and their wifi isn't strong enough for an online meeting, so I didn't stay.

Regardless, I came in to hopefully try the lobster chowder that so many people mentioned in the reviews, but unfortunately that wasn't opened. However, I was able to do a short hike there that lead to the top of the mountain with 360 view of the cape. Highly recommend this hike when you're in Meat Cove. Insanely beautiful and not difficult, take about 20-25mins to the top. I talked to some people at the camp and they're very friendly. Even though, I didn't stay, they were still very helpful and nice, let me park by the office while hiking and use the washroom. During my trip around the highland, I find the locals here are very friendly, kind, and honest. I love the vibe of this community. The washroom is super nice and clean, looks fairly new, it's built like a rustic cabin, you can smell the scent of the wood. I hope to come back again, maybe during Fall season to see this little gem in foliage.

Lastly to mention, I don't think the road is bad after reading many reviews people saying it's rugged, difficult, etc. Yes, it's dirt road but the first 2 km is in very good shape, no pot holes, after that there are some pot holes, but not so bad at all, some sections around the elbow turns are paved. My 1994 camper van can go in and out without any issue, maybe a bit careful during bad weather. Definitely recommend this place, you have to visit here during your trip around Cape Breton. Not to be missed.

Quaint camp grounds at the end of the dirt trail. A lot of it is actually paved and it is an easy drive. Enjoy coffee from the office shop then wander down to the beach. Beautiful
