Guy definitely knows what he's talking about. Was a little sceptical after reading past reviews, but his performance and quick turnaround time means I will continue to use his service. He seems to be one of few in the area who use the torque plate method of boring and honing. Also his technical understanding of the Nissan RB engine had me sold. His shop is not pretty and don't look like much but his work is outstanding! Thank you pro power!

A huge thank you to Dave and his assistant for their work on my 2004 Land Rover Discovery. I originally brought my LR into Pro-Power with the infamous “tick tick” of a slipped cylinder sleeve. The repair work required a total engine tear down/rebuild. Despite several setbacks as a result of sketchy repair jobs done by the previous owner, the work was still able to be completed at a high standard and on budget. After the initial rebuild, a couple parts related defects came up. After a quick email to Dave, he was able to correct these faults in a timely manner with no questions asked. Several months after the initial rebuild, the LR is going strong. I would highly recommend Pro-Power Engine & Machine for any major engine machining/repair.

Absolutely, hands down, best private marine mechanic in all of Vancouver Island. Had a Searay which needed repowering. Pro power not only repowered it but made the boat functional for our needs. This guy knows what he's doing. Amazing knowledgable mechanic.

Had Propower in Saanich rebuild my old GM 4-bolt main 350 block. When it come to the cylinder heads, he told me that the heads I provided were no good for the build since the ports were too big. Then mentioned he had some GM 441 head cores kicking around the machine shop he would sell me for the engine. I agreed. Well I ended up pulling one of the valve covers to check the casting numbers and discovered they're not 441 heads like he told me they were. They're GM 416 heads from a 305 engine. I should of checked right fresh from the shop upon pickup.

WARNING!
Never have I used somebody so unprofessional in my entire 30+ years in business. D&D was established since 1990 I know many of the engine rebuilders on the island and nobody has anything good to say to me about Dave Conway he is a con artist and a thief the police are very aware of this con artist better business bureau has multiple files he takes your money promises to do work and then doesn't even call you back this guy is a supreme piece of shat! Do not use him and if you don't believe me just call a machine shop on Vancouver Island they know about Dave Conway. He's ripped off more people and has more excuses and stories then a high-rise apartment building. Disgusting.

*UPDATE* 03/25/23 yup!!
still nothing! I'm going to have to sue, what a pain and waste of time. YAY! I can add another judgement on his property his excuse now is I slandered him and he wants me to retract the Truth, that not slander bonehead!

*UPDATE* 03/03/24 WOW!!!
Still no attempts to make good!
Not a peep, how can someone be so corrupt. Had a mutual customer confirm visually my engine sits under a moving blanket 2023.
What a POS!
Time to file a Notice Of Claim
Yes! I looked after my customer purchased another complete 6.6 duramax motor and all the missing new parts (sent to Pro Power) fyi, straight out of my pocket,
Thanks Dave,
See you in court!
Offer to Settle:
still applies until filing, give me back now/my engine

I'm in the U S, Port Angeles to be exact. Before Covid , over two years ago I did the research on this business and at that time he looked legit. During both countries "lock downs" it was too complicated to have this engine rebuilt at his shop. I put a hold on this project. December of 2021 I began to start this project again. I sent this shop a $4,000 dollar (US $) deposit to begin work on a block he said he had in stock. With the easing of the lock down we made a projected date for me to bring my vehicle to his shop in Canada. Ten days before our agreed job start his phone was unhooked. At that time I got real nervous. I traveled to Victoria, drove up to this shop to see what was going on. Arrived early afternoon.. Found this shop with nobody around. The owner Dave came out of neighboring house with a lady and after introductions we went to his a very unorganized shop. I asked to see the shot block he was supposedly was working on and he said it wasn't there. At that time I was reluctant to leave my vehicle in his possession. We US citizens to not have the same abilities legally in Canada, with out going thru complicated expensive measures to deal in these situations. After backing out of this deal, Dave said he would sell this supposed engine and return some of my deposit. You can guess the rest.

This guy had my engine for 2 years he did nothing. Lied about progress constantly. Told him I wanted it back wouldn't return it. Had to sue him for return of property. Bad news stay from this guy.

I can only say STAY AWAY from PRO POWER. This company is unorganized, unprofessional and refuses to stand behind their product. They cannot even produce a receipt for a motor in which he built for a 5 digit cost. If you care about your vehicle in any way shape or form do yourself a favour and go see a real professional. These guys have done it to others before and they will do again.
