Amazing fish. Pure expression of quality. Very well curated seasonal specials and amazing sake selection. One of the absolute best restaurants in the area. ❤❤❤

Simply divine. Limited seating, so book beforehand. Server is very knowledgeable and supportive. The fish itself is extremely fresh and has no fishy taste at all. Each dish is crafted with care and excellence. They even had a fish that was almost extinct! A restaurant to experience, comes with a steep price tag, that's for sure! Feel free to ask for the servers recommendations.

We regretted not coming in this place earlier. From the outside it looks like a small take out place but we thought to give it a try tonight. The selection is AMAZING compare to the vast Japanese restaurants we have in this neighborhood. Rare, hard to find seafood and delicate preparation blew us away. Even the sake selection is amazing. The shop told us they change a section of the menu frequently which really draws us back to try more. Can't wait to revisit, what a gem!

Definitely one of the best Japanese restaurant in White Rock and the greater Vancouver area.
All the fish are of top quality and beautifully presented. For my first visit, the best part was the bluefin chutoro sashimi (the ordinary uni was just ordinary to be honest; should have tried something fancier) and the fois gras/lobster tail/flounder fringe aburi sushi. The wagyu beef was a bite overdone, and the rest were not as stunning as heard.
However, the “Taka’s fire” roll was beyond expectations and all their Americanized-rolls are bot expensive at all.
Also ordered a small bottle of yuzu sake (which was good). Regrettably they don’t have more cocktail/high ball options.
Service: attentive but not overwhelming. Hot tea was served on time.
Conclusion: worth the money and time. Have already decided to find time for a second visit when still around the area.

Been going to Taka for many years and have experienced its transformation. Some dishes are different than before and they added quite many new high end Japanese fish than before. I think overall quality still very good. Fish r consistently fresh and u could tell the owner paid a lot of attention to details. Strongly recommend to try if u like fresh authentic Japanese local seafoods.

Top grade food quality and inventive menu items makes for a memorable sushi destination in White Rock. Definitely will return.

Limited to only three tables due to social distance restrictions, but it only adds to the ambience of exclusivity that this quality of cuisine aspires to.

Prompt service and reasonable prices considering the premium ingredients.

Fresh sushi and omakase experience of a big city in a small town, White Rock.

The selections of fish, both local and imported, available are very impressive, and the overall price is quite reasonable for the quality you can literally taste. Reasonable doesn't equal cheap, but I've experienced this level of exquisite quality only in more expensive restaurants located in much bigger cities.

Nothing much to add other than: this is the best that White Rock has to offer for something along the line of "omakase" experience, and it guarantees to never disappoint.

All the fish tastes super fresh,I never had the uni with this quality in the other places of Vancouver. Compare with sashimi, the taste of sushi is definitely more worthy to the price, especially the foia gras one and the beef one. Staff would firstly ask your budget for the meal, which is helpful to choose the best combination with your own affordable price. Next time,I would like to spend more on their sushi.

Food is fresh with good quality, servers always provide decent recommendations base on their special menu and what’s best at the season. Probably the best sashimi I’ve ever had in great Vancouver area.

Stopped by for lunch before driving back to Seattle. Their fish were all very fresh at a good price point. The friend that took us there loves this place.

The perfect definition of you pay for what you get !

this is definitely a mind blowing experience, and worth the 2 hours back and forth driving from North Van !

Well seasoned on the dishes, sashimi are very fresh and the plating is eye pleasing.

Really high quality sushi here. We got 4 rolls: Taka's Fire, spicy tuna, spicy scallop, and poached salmon.
They were really good and the freshness and flavor of the fish and scallops really shined through even with the sauces.
I also tried the salmon nigiri and it was amazing. It comes with soy sauce brushed on so no soy sauce dipping is needed. The salmon tasted so fresh and clean.
The only one I probably won't order again is the poached salmon. While the taste was fine, the texture reminded me of canned tuna which to me isn't ideal for a sushi roll.
It looks like they're know for their aburi so I'll have to come back and try that.

We are sushi lovers! This place is next level! They took extra care of my gluten-free needs and have an excellent specialty menu! You have to try the seared Aburi Foie Gras and the Aburi Super White, our new favourite sushi place!

This is a great place to get real sushi made directly in front of you. Great food, great customer service, and great ambient. They definitely pay attention to detail.

The restaurant is located in White Rock, there is plenty of parking available and it's easily reachable.

Very authentic sushi restaurant. Aburi sushi is especially delicious. A bit more pricey than your regular sushi restaurant but they're more upscale. BTW, they don't take reso and during COVID, there are only 3 tables inside, so it's best to go early or order take out.

Absolutely the best place to get sushi in South Surrey White Rock area, and one of the best in BC! ❤🍣

When you're just looking for sushi rolls for takeout during the time of isolation, there's no better place to look for! Unlike their amazing Omakase course, the price is fairly reasonable with appropriate portion. (I'm not a big fan of cheap, huge, and gross.)

Love their Omakase selections too. Especially when Chef Michael said there's a special menu. Wow, special menu it was! Of course, for Omakase, you pay premium for premium and beyond.

Best sushi in the lower mainland if you're looking for high-quality sushi. You can also pick the cheaper roll options if you are not looking to splurge.
