Really nice accomodations if you like to camp. I was on a bike tour and needed a place before getting on the ferry. Scott was extremely hospitable, the facilities were immaculate, and it was very quiet. I had to leave before breakfast, but It sounded delicious as well.

So glad we were able to find this place last minute! The hospitality is unmatched, you can order breakfast the day before and it's brought to your tent in the morning. There's a very clean trailer with toilets and a sink. A private tent used for an outdoor shower and a shaded seating area as well. The hosts are so kind and are happy to give you recommendations or help. We were able to borrow an awesome bike map of the island, accidentally took it with us so I've attached photos of it.

The property felt super safe, the 75 bus which goes to and from downtown Victoria stops a 6 minute walk away. It's not too much of a hassle to bus or bike in but just have to be mindful of the last bus time in at night.

If you love animals this place is great as well, we saw deer in the yard, a chicken coop, and a visiting cat.

The hosts live on the property so be mindful of noise and following the rules they've posted.

Mind for a great trip! Excited to visit again sometime!

What a wonderful find! My sister and I found Garden Acres Campground last minute on our Island trip. Scott and Janet are some of the most friendly, helpful and caring hosts. They made our experience so much more lovely. The breakfast option was great and they deliver it right to your campsite. They were such sweet and attentive hosts, it made me feel like we were staying with friends. Bunnies, deer and birds roam the yard and it is super peaceful and quiet. Would absolutely come back.

These folks are the nicest people you’ll meet! We had such a great time at their farm/ campground. They put a lot of effort into making it really nice and you can tell they’re really genuine family run business. Between the shower tent with hot water and the bathroom trailer, there was nothing more we could have asked for. Also we highly recommend the breakfast, they make it right there and the eggs come straight from the chickens. They have phone charges and games and it’s just an all around good experience. Thanks Scott & Janet!!

Hidden Gem! This tent only campground is set on a small hobby farm in beautiful Brentwood Bay. Meticulously maintained grounds, sparkling washroom facilities and limited number of campers ensures a joyful stay. We used Gardenside as a home base for two days of Kayaking in Todd and Sannich inlet. Caught a good party band Friday night and fireworks Saturday night at Butchard Gardens. We purchased farm fresh eggs (that tasted like eggs). Scott and Janet will also serve farm to table food right to your camping spot. Unbelievable.

Gardenside Acres is a great place to camp. Five of us arrived on bicycles and were greeted by the owner in a friendly and very accommodating manner. The campground is a quiet, clean and comfortable place to stay in Saanich.

Amazing place to camp, super quiet location on a beautiful acreage, no noises apart from birds, even heard an owl in the night! Owners are very nice and accommodating, and have very delicious breakfast options, the homemade bread and jam are to die for! Will definitely be returning here next time I'm in Vic!

We stayed here because it was an easy bike ride to category 12 brewing, sea cider and some other wineries. It rained in the morning but we were able to eat the home made breakfast under cover in the gazebos, which was so peaceful. The breakfast was delicious, ready for the time we asked for the night before and just really cute. The couple that runs the place is lovely. The bathroom facilities were very clean which is often not the case with larger campgrounds. The camping area is not crowded at all, with lots of soft grass to set up tents on. We would definitely stay here again.

I found Gardenside last minute on a last minute bike trip doing the Cowichan trail figure 8 bike packing route. Highlight of the trip. Scott and Janet are phenomenal hosts, location is perfect (if you like quiet tenting, excellent wine (Church and State just 1 KM away), gorgeous scenery (Tod inlet which is free or Buchart Gardens, not free) and much more. I stayed there at the beginning and end of my trip. Great place for one night or bookend your trip it flying from Victoria or taking a ferry (either Swartz Bay or Victoria). Oh and don’t skip Janet’s blackberry preserves for your waffle in the morning.

My partner and I booked this tent site based on the glowing reviews. We were not disappointed!
We weren’t sure about tenting on somebody’s property but if you want to explore Victoria on a budget, book this NOW!
Pros: Janet and Scott are your concierge! If you’re confused where to start, just ask. They are the nicest.
Flush RV toilet and running sink with mirror ✅
Shower tent does the trick ✅
Breakfast was AMAZING. Homemade bread, farm fresh eggs. The waffle is amazing with homemade rhubarb compote and whip… deer walking through the yard during breakfast - honestly loved it.
Only downside is there is 3 spots closer together then there’s some better spaced out spots. Get the better spot OR Bring ear plugs in case your neighbour snores.
Highly recommend this adorable place and we will certainly be back!

I love this campsite. I phoned to reserve pretty late because of the rain we had to change our plan the last minute. Luckily we were able to book a site. It is located close to the Butchart Gardens. And Gowlland Tod provincial park. After we arrived Janet showed us a couple good hiking trails close by and how to get there and some recommendations for visiting Victoria. Both Scott and Janet are super nice and helpful and we were treated like friends and family. We have access to hot shower, a very clean bathroom, we were able to charge our phones and had hot tea and coffee in the morning. We did not order breakfast this morning but next time definitely going to try the breakfast. The site is beautiful with huge grass space and in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood. It was perfect for us because we have a small car and a tent. I will definitely come back next time when I am around Victoria.

This was such a wonderful place to stay, 5 sites in total so it is very quiet and peaceful.

The hosts were incredibly friendly, they had fresh coffee and tea out every morning. The breakfast was fantastic, I had the beligian waffles with fresh berry jam.

The morning sounds of the campsite were great, with chickens clucking further off in the yard and song birds from the nature park next door. It is away from traffic so you don't get any road noise.

They had a 2 room bathroom trailer with flushable toilets, a little shower tent set up with an on-demand water heater and a garden hose, brochures with things to check out in the area, a fresh water tap.

I was thoroughly impressed and would absolutely stay here again if I make it back out to the island.

Beautiful and quiet place. The owners couldn't be nicer. If you are looking for a peaceful place to sleep in your tent but having a luxury (nowadays natural is luxe) breakfast in the morning, this is your place. I can't live without a morning coffee and they have complementary one under served every morning under the trees. Divine!.
Food was great, we even bought granola bars (delicious)... Shower and toilets super clean, a lot of information about the surroundings, they don't miss a thing.
We are really looking forward to go back.

A wonderful place to stay near Victoria! We stayed here on the last night of a week long bikepacking trip and it was such a treat having a home cooked breakfast and a shower! Janet and Scott were very welcoming and accommodating. We had to change our arrival date fairly last minute and we were so thankful that they made it work and let us stay on a busy Friday night.

Thanks to Scott and his wife! The campground is very clean and quiet. We ordered breakfast which came from his garden so it was very fresh and good! Scott is a great host and took the time to answer our questions for our roadtrip. Would recommend 100%! Thanks again!

This really was one of the best camping places I've ever been to. It is so quiet and peaceful, just right to relax on the grass next to the chickens. The owners are such nice people and you can order breakfast (we had waffles) that is made fresh with local ingredients.
Love this place and would definitely come again!

Super nice campsite! Definitely would stay again. It’s super close to gas stations, grocery store, the buchart gardens, and the butterfly garden. Flushable toilet and running water, free showers and incredible hosts. Scott and Janet are wonderful and super helpful, they give maps and directions on everything nice to do in Victoria and the nice places to eat! Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone that wants a nice campsite to stay in on a budget.

Janet and Scott such lovely hosts, very friendly and accommodating.
We had everything we needed while here. Janet gave us some suggested sites to visit and maps. Scott brought breakfast and coffee in the Morning. They work hard to make sure their guests are happy and comfortable. Very lovely visit.

Janet and Scott are lovely hosts and take pride in their property and the guest's comfort.
Their optional breakfasts are a great idea if you want an early start to your day.
There are CLEAN flush toilets with running water and a shower tent.

Some people use it for a night stay as they get off the Swartz Bay ferry. Others, like myself, used it as a quiet and secure basecamp to go vist the local attractions like Butchart gardens, whale watching, Victoria, distilleries, vineyards, etc.
It is nice that the complete property is smoke free and pet free too. I personally do not want to smell secondhand smoke while relaxing or hear a noisy dog or stepping in things that their owners missed.
It is on my recommendation list for friends and family.
