This place has been in the family 49 years.
Holds true to the original recipes made now by their grand daughters and great grand children.
Food was perfect and staff were great.
They do not cross fry the foods and the oil was fresh ensuring the seafood sang.

Make sure to stop in when in the Ingonish area. It gets busy fast, seating on their screened in porch over looking the bay goes fast and is very enjoyable if you get the chance to sit. The food and service is good despite how busy it gets. If you need something then just ask. We had the seafood platter to share along with side of fries (not realizing how much food this would be!). Beer was cold and fresh. We also had the coconut crème pie for dessert, it was delicious!

The BEST meal we’ve had on our east coast road trip! We were a group of 21 and this restaurant was able to seat us in their dining room with no problem. Service was fantastic and we felt so at home! The food was delicious, huge portions and definitely worth the price. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Ingonish, Nova Scotia!

My family moved from Alberta to Cape Breton in Jan 2020. We have heard about Seagull Restaurant from friends and we decided to drive 2hrs to give it a try.

Firstly - you are welcome with a big smile.
The order came on time and food was Fabulous.

My 6yrs and 3yrs old Daughter want us to visit every weekend.lol.

Cozy atmosphere, delicious food with a scenic view! You will love this place, especially if you like seafood. We’ve been there June 15th on lunch, the food was served after 5 minutes we placed an order.

Loved this place - family run restaurant with good food & large portions - with everything homemade by one of the sisters. The lobster club is to die for - everything is so fresh! The lobster we had was off the boat the same day (a family boat). A very popular place with the locals & tourists. While reservations are recommended in their busy season, they will always find you a place to sit!

Stopped here on a whim in the middle of the afternoon. I had the lobster roll, and my husband had the fisherman platter. Both servings were more than expected size wise. Both were delicious.

Do not be deceived by the look of this place. It looks scruffy on the inside and the outside a little too but the food is awesome. I actually had the BEST lobster roll I had eaten in 3 weeks travelling in Boston/PEI/N.S. The price was the best too!
The view is lovely as you are right on the water. The staff are friendly if a little slow. The wine and beer has enough choice and also is a good price. The portions are huge. my husband had fish and chips - excellent and my lobster roll was absolutely jam packed with lobster. Highly, highly recommend.

Came back here for the lobster roll twice! Very generous with the meat, however I recommend eating it with a fork and knife! Really nice view from the enclosed "patio", it can get a bit cold in there so bring a jacket or extra sweater. Seafood and turkey sandwiches got compliments from others at the group. Nice quick service so this is a nice place if you need a quick pit stop after a local hike. Would definitely come back here again.

The views from the restaurant were amazing! And the quantity for food was definitely worth it. Super affordable and amazing food!

Great food at a reasonable price. Portion sizes are AWESOME. Great service as well. I've decided where your going for dinner, you can stop looking now. 😁

The waitress was nice, the view was spectacular, the seafood pasta was out of this world and reasonable for the size of the plate.

Goodness! This place is delicious. Really enjoyed every bite. My favorite place on the cabot trail. You HAVE TO eat here if you pass by.

Beautiful view to dine by. I had their lobster roll platter. It was absolutely delicious! Their caesar salad was great. Awesome fries. Our whole table loved their meal, here. Large portions.

Was at the middle head trail hike and decided to not eat at the upscale lodge restaurant and ended up here. It has a friendly family diner feel to it and overlooks the water. The view cannot be beat. Our waitress was friendly and energetic and made us feel right at home. We ordered a lobster club sandwich, fried seafood platter, grilled seafood platter, and seafood martinque. The food came fairly quick and portions are big and are above expectation in presentation. They obviously have put efforts in it. My friends shared the fried and grilled platters and claimed they were well done. I had the seafood martinque and it was with a creamy sauce that is rich but not overpowering the rest. The ingredients tasted very fresh and cooked just to my liking. My other friend had the lobster sandwich and compared to the lobster roll he just ate yesterday in Sydney he likes the sandwich better (the sandwich does have bacon so that might have helped :) ). Overall it was a wonderful experience in food, service, and atmosphere.

Great little gem that we found during our trip to Ingonish. Staff were also very friendly. I had the seafood pasta dinner and there was a ton of meat. Great value!!

Very casual place. Not fancy but oh the food was fantastic. I got the seafood pasta and it was delicious and huge! My husband got the fish and chips which were perfectly cooked and fresh. My daughter got the vegetarian wrap and she's a picky eater who ate every bite. A local recommended this restaurant and I'm so glad he did. Not to be missed.

If even only for the view! But the food was amazing! The staff was so friendly and nice! It has an amazing family get-together atmosphere over looking the water. It's almost an insult to the ocean not to get seafood here! Pictures are after we took some bites... we couldn't wait.

We had a great time at Seagull Restaurant during a cozy fog evening in Ingonish. The lobster dinner was fantastic, highly recommend!

This is a must for anyone wanting delicious seafood. I had the healthy light side grilled fisherman platter which my sister and I shared! Plenty of shrimp, scallops, salmon, coleslaw, fries, veg. More than enough for two people. The others had lobster sandwich, fried clam platter!! Beautiful views. Excellent service!!
