Incredible getaway and right our own Alberta backyard. A true gem and delightful treat for anyone needing a little fantasy, magic, or some simple peace and quiet. I will be back again and again!!!

We spent 3 nights at Good Knights to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. From start to finish everything was incredible. They had a massive collection of costumes we could choose from on the first night so we could dress up all weekend. Our favourite part was the royal feast, we were lucky enough to even be seated at the head table since we were celebrating our anniversary. Sir Daniel and Dame Shannon shared stories, lead some games and medieval dancing and the food was outstanding.

It was so special being able to share in Lady Linda and Sir Daniels passion for all things medieval. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to try something new and have an experience unlike anywhere else.

We were also lucky to spend the weekend with a great group of couples and families.

Great experience!
Tents were well designed with electricity and running water supplied. Loved the detail of hiding electrical sockets in small treasure chests.
Excellent service! Accommodated food preferences readily. Kind and friendly folk, willing to help and provide an enjoyable experience.
Beautiful location with room to move around and explore.
Made changes to schedule to adapt to excessive heat. Very thoughtful.

Wonderful experience! Twin grandsons were 9 - perfect age to get excited about archery and sword fighting. Although the weather didn’t always cooperated, Sir Daniel and his merry men/woman did their best to be flexible to fit in all the events around the weather. I didn’t feel like we missed anything. Amazing attention to detail, from the tent furnishings to the costumes. They’ve thought of everything to provide comfort and entertainment in this medieval themed atmosphere. Well done, Sir Daniel!!

Excellent experience. Loved the tent, the costumes, fresh fruit and warm baked goods in the morning. Sir Daniel definitely works hard to make it an incredible memory. We did leather crafts, my kids loved it. Having the kitchen for water and hot chocolate was great with kids and waking up to coffee was a lovely addition. They did accommodate our family and we are extremely grateful for that.

A bit of confusion around leaving and misunderstanding due to innitially being offered to stay later than checkout by one owner and the other owner apparently not knowing and seeming upset. We would have planned our schedule accordingly if it was going to be an issue. Overall tho, great experience. And the effort put in truly is inspiring.

What an incredible adventure!! I was nervous taking my first holiday since needing a wheelchair. However, upon arrival, we were greeted by Sir Daniel who asked if I would like to borrow a mobile scooter for our entire stay (four days and three nights) We were not expecting this and using the scooter was such an immense help in getting around. The entire village was wheelchair/scooter accessible. Each tent had a ramp leading up to it as did the community kitchen. The sinks and mirrors were lowered and the burrow had a wheelchair shower with a shower chair. Sir Daniel and Lady Linda even had a horse bow so that I could take part in the archery lesson. They have truly thought of everything for people with mobility issues. Thank you so much for creating such an amazing medieval world for everyone!!

These 2 days were one of those pleasant surprises in life. We got rained out on a camping trip and decided to find a place to overnight on our way back home. We ended up staying for 2 nights! Everything, starting from how genuine and sincere Sir Daniel and Lady Linda are as people to all the personal touches and care during our stay, was a wonderful blessing. I am always trying to hunt down unique places since I am not a hotel girl and this one took the cake. The accomodation was very beautifully decorated and super comfortable. All the activities were a real treat, from archery and sword fighting to leather making they share so much of their skills with their guests. A great place to connect with nature and the people around you

What a fun girls weekend! Sir Daniel was a super host - very passionate and a great story teller. Lady Katie was super knowledgeable and did a great job making us feel comfortable and entertained. Lady Linda cooked fantastic food! The accommodations were great - so detailed and felt really authentic, while also being modern enough to enjoy in the cooler nights (heated blankets!). Would highly recommend to anyone, and will be bringing my family here for sure!

This past long weekend my daughter and I had the pleasure to visit Good Knights Encampment and it was spectacular! The encampment was clean, very charming and you were transported to a different world! The beautiful huge canvas tents were very comfortable, warm, furnished beautifully, porcelain toilets, running water, wooden floors and rich thick carpets. The costumes were incredibly fun! Hundreds of choices, various sizes and great selection of accessories (swords, shields, crowns and everything you need to feel like royalty). The Great Hall where we had the Saturday night feast was absolutely beautiful! You felt like you were in a castle! Food was great and sharing a meal with our wonderful group of other guests was very special!

Our gracious hosts Sir Daniel and Lady Linda truly invite you into their dream and vision of this amazing experience. They were kind, extremely accommodating, and always made sure their guests were taken care of. They truly made you feel welcome! We also had the privilege of meeting Dame Shannon! She is an amazing storyteller, extremely hard worker and just a beautiful human being! She also made sure all the guests were comfortable and entertained. We loved the leather craft with her! During our stay we had the privilege to watch Sir Daniel and Dame Shannon battle in full knight armor, so cool!!

There was nothing we were in need of as our gracious hosts ensured we had everything! Whether it was coffee, water, activities, great conversation it was all there! These amazing hosts work extremely hard to provide their guests with a wonderful experience!

This is an absolute must if you are looking for something unique! Our family would like to make this a yearly event, you actually came home feeling rested an fulfilled!!

Thank-you so much for this wonderful weekend! I will always carry this place in my heart!! ❤

Such an amazing experience for my family of 4 (2 kids under 5)! We stayed in the Royal Hut which took us back in time! I can't explain it you just have to see it for yourself. Breakfast for both weekend days and supper were awesome! The dinner was in the great hall. Try to organize it with all the whole family and friends and make it one for history in the books!

A wonderful trip back in time. The hosts have done everything to make the experience as authentic as possible along with a few modern amenities. We learned archery, sword fighting, leather craft and all about armor. The costume options were endless. Such great fun!

What an amazing experience! It is no surprise Daniel and Linda are passionate about what they do. The encampment accommodations are fun and extremely comfortable. The weekend consisted of archery, leathercraft, sword fighting, and an amazing feast. Lady Linda was especially accommodating with our daughters extreme dietary restrictions. Get out there, dress up with something fun from the costume closets, and enjoy all good knights has to offer!

What an amazing experience! We came to Good Knights for a unique girls getaway and now my friends and I can't stop talking about another trip next summer. Sir Dan went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The food was great and the tents were cozy and clean. The love, time, and attention put into the encampment is truly something else. What a great place to be. Thank you for such a memorable stay, we will be back.

One of the most memorable experiences staying in The Burrow. Every detail was thoughtfully designed and built. Sir Daniel and Lady Linda were gracious hosts.

My friends and I stayed in the Burrow, and it was just so incredibly lovely. It felt like we were actually in the Shire! The Burrow itself is so cozy, and all the details really made it feel authentic and immersive. The costumes also add a lot, and they have plenty of pieces which seem to be quite inclusive with sizing.
The location is also great--a quiet area surrounded by fields, hills, and cows. The owners and staff are very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, and you can tell that they truly love this place and what they do. The activities were a lot of fun: archery, leathercrafting, and swordfighting lessons from Sir Daniel. They also had a nice wooden hot tub in the front of the Burrow, a fire pit, and board games to borrow, and we spent a wonderfully relaxing few days here.
We were disappointed when we had to leave, and you can rest assured this place will once again be at the top of our list the next time we're planning a trip. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves the Lord of the Rings or medieval things in general. You won't be disappointed!

Sir Dan has really put his heart and soul into an amazing experience for those who'd love to step back in time. Good Knights is staying as authentic as it can, while still having some new aged amenities we love to live with (hot water and some flushing toielts). This is such an amazing experience that you can do with a small or large group. Activities and costumes for all, we are so lucky to have this hidden gem in our province.

Oh my goodness! I wasn't sure what to expect when we were gifted this experience. Wow! I was blown away! The dedication, passion and love that Linda, Daniel and Shannon pour into this place is phenomenal. The detail is jaw dropping with authentic pieces and art and just the shere craftsmanship of the pieces that Sir Daniel has made himself.
The people are so personable, kind and welcoming it's difficult not to fall in love with them.
We did a Friday to Sunday weekend. You check in to a large and spacious tent, decorated to match the theme. The beds were comfortable and there is electricity and private washrooms for each tent. At night we had personal fire pits with the driest wood which was easy to light.
The communal kitchen is quaint and easy to use. I LOVED IT. There's a little clay oven which I hope to use for bannock next time.
On Saturday, we were able to experience a variety of medievel activities and games. Each family member had a favorite. Some of the things we did were archery, leather stamping, swordsmanship, some education, axe throwing, kubb, and dancing.
The feast was phenomenal, it led to story sharing, laughing and bonding with previously strangers.
I especially loved that our children had a variety of others to play with all day long.
I am so grateful for this experience. I hope that they are able to continue for many years. This little hidden gem offers so much more than meets the eye and is good for the soul.

Sir Dan is a kind and courteous host at this unique and interesting place to explore. You are greeted with warmth and compassion and at at all times I felt relaxed and safe in this environment.

The encampment is located between 2 farms and has all the amenities you would need for glamping.
You can feel the passion that Sir Dan has for his craft and way of life at the medieval camp.

There is work being done at the camp and you get the impression that this place will be transforming for years to come. The accommodations are rustic but still comfortable and clean. There is electricity available for those who want it and private washrooms and even a shower. We didn’t stay for one of the evening meals but based on the level of detail put into this I assume Dan would put on a spread to satisfy all.

A continental Breakfast was provided and we were impressed with the warm home made baked goods provided. The night sky was beautiful the sounds of the cows from the farms next door was both relaxing and soothing. The bed was very comfortable and with the cold evenings the heated blanket was a luxury I fully enjoyed.

We will definitely be coming back to enjoy a weekend adventure and partake in everything this place has to offer.
Thanks Dan you were an awesome host and great archery coach!

My wife and I spent a wonderfully fun and adventurous night here. The tents are all unique and charming and comfortable, with enough modern comforts mixed into the medieval theme to make evenings comfortable. Dan and Linda were wonderful hosts, with so much dedication to provide anything we could ask for during our stay. We will definitely be back again with the kids!

We stayed here in July of 2018 and absolutely loved it. The tent we slept in was impeccable. Good Knights was also very accommodating, providing us with 2 cots for our kids. Everything was clean and well maintained. The hosts were friendly and very knowledgeable as well. The activities were a lot of fun, especially sword fighting and the feast at the end was perfection.

On our last night staying, the owners came out to the bonfire and sat and talked with us and were very pleasant.

This is perfect for families with children as there are a lot of costumes for them to dress up in and wide spaces to play.

You can really tell that the owners love what they do and want everyone to have a fun and enjoyable experience.

We will absolutely be returning.

2023 update

We returned at the end of June and stayed in the burrow. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Sir Dan and Lady Linda are amazing hosts as always.
