Tennecape Cafe

My friend and I stopped at this cute little cafe for an ice cream treat on our road trip to Halifax from Toronto. And it just so happened that we made it in for the last day of the season. We felt so lucky. The owner, Diane, was very sweet and welcoming. Aside from the delicious ice creams, it’s also the experience we rejoiced. We had an amazing conversation with her for around an hour and even got to meet her father Eugene who played some accordion for us; true maestro. We shall never forget it. We hope to go back one day. It’s people like this we live for.

We came across this lovely cafe after exploring Burntcoat Head National Park and were desperately searching for sweets. This cafe did not disappoint! Excellent selection of ice cream (I got Moose Tracks) and pastries.

Throughout the trip, I hold this stop as one of my favorite places, as my partner and I were engaged in conversation with Graham and Rodney for a good half hour before we took off again. Truly kind, interesting and genuine people who are a lot of fun to chat with!

Found this lovely treasure yesterday with my partner after leaving Burntcoat. We were craving ice cream and coffee and that is what we enjoyed after a lovely chat with the owner. The café is spacious, has lots of tables as well as history. Her Dad, when present, plays the Accordion. I understand they have stone fired pizza on Fridays. They can accommodate a large number of people so maybe a stop for cruise ship folks when that industry returns. We loved it!

Friendly welcome, quick service. They're lovely and are just starting their business venture as a duo. Quick, simple lunch before heading over to Burntcoat lookout. If you're looking for a homemade grilled cheese, it's the perfect spot for you. Wishing you both the best of luck!

This was a sweet little cafe run by two sweet girls. We had the ice cream and a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie “made by my nanna”. Highly recommend after a visit to Burncoat Park.

Had some nice ice cream here. Prices are reasonable but choices were a bit limited. However, we love to support these local community centres and will return when in the area.

My God what a find! A great place to stop for a snack. The sweets are only out done by the hospitality.
