Very good burger, with that authentically SLIGHTLY toasted bun, and generous portions - that's great 7oz burger there. And OH MY GOODNESS the fries. I got myself the mashed potatoes, but my wife ordered fries and I will be getting some of those every time I'm nearby. Great prices, friendly service, nice place to sit and eat a meal. I'll be back for sure.

My wife and I were thrilled to discover Our Backyard BBQ after a long drive from Halifax. We believe it's Amherst's best-kept secret. My wife is not as big of a BBQ fan as I am, but when we walked in, both of us were immediately impressed. We had a tough time deciding between the Brisket Sandwich or a Rack of Ribs, but ultimately went with the Chicken & Rib combo, which was a fantastic choice. If you're looking for some delicious, smoky BBQ, don't miss Our Backyard BBQ. Trust me, I'm a BBQ junkie! To sum up this review in one word: GO! Get some of this goodness. P.S To hungry for photos.

The owner was truly amazing! He helped me decide on the best meal for my own preferences. Trust me...it did not disappoint! His suggestion was spot on!!

He went above & beyond, explained his smoking process...and even gave us pointers on how to do our own at home.

That is not a service you will ever come across again...this place is a gem!

I dropped in with a bunch of family members last Friday and was blown away. It's easily some of the best BBQ I've ever had. We ordered the platter, and it was just perfect! The staff members were dealt with (I assume the owner) were friendly and knowledgeable. It's definitely a great spot in Amherst I'd recommend to anyone

Stopped here on our way home from PEI and it was amazing!! Our group had the fried chicken sandwich and the ribs, Mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was so good!!!
Service was fast and super friendly staff😊 we will definitely stop in the next time we're in Nova Scotia!

Hole on the wall type beat.

Walked in and was embraced by a comforting smoky smell of a good ol’ camp fire. Red rustic picnic benches and a full display of wood really tie the whole atmosphere together! The service was great, very friendly and polite, took our garbage/ dirty trays for us.

The food is the star of the show! I ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs and my spouse the smoked brisket sandwich with sides of baked beans, Mac and cheese, and apple coleslaw between the two of us. The meat was juicy tender and falling off the bone. The sauce perfectly compliments the smoky favours of the ribs having a beautiful tangy buffalo flavour without the heat! The Mac was the perfect amount of cheesy with a sprinkling of crushed cheese puffs on top really completes the homey feeling of this place. Not to mention the amount of food you get for the price!! Unbeatable!

If ever just passing through or looking for a good bite to eat I couldn’t be more excited to recommend this place!! So sad we’re traveling back to Ontario and have to wait what will seem like a lifetime before we can enjoy this Devine cuisine again.

Just stopped in here for the first time. I had chicken and ribs and the wife had pulled pork sandwich. Absolutely delicious and the guys are super friendly! Everyone in here is recommending the brisket so next time we shall try the brisket. Keep up the good work, see you again!

Had the special of the week and it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. Staff was great and checked on us a couple times to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Absolutely delicious brisket sandwich I recommend the mac and cheese and the beans as a side.

Great customer service we noticed that our beans were cold we weren't going to say anything cuz they were still delicious and a couple minutes later the owner came out and gave us some hot beans and we didn't even ask for them.

So, so good! Portions are huge, prices are more than fair, and everything we've tried is delicious. The brisket is a family favorite. The poutine is amazing. I don't think you'd regret any choice here.

It's tough to find good BBQ. It is truly an uncommon art North of the US. Sampled everything they had to offer here. What I can say after trying out the sampler platter is it absolutely hit the spot and exceeded expectations. Excellent bbq at a fair price. Nitpicking, the pulled pork was slightly dry, excellent sauce made up for it.

Out of this world delicious! We went for my dad's birthday and all of us loved our food. 10/10 for taste and price, absolutely recommend!!!

My friends and I stopped here on our trip from NS to PEI as it was highly recommended by our friend who had worked in Amherst. We were blown away. Prices are great and portions are generous. I ordered the Ultimate Poutine with beef brisket and it was one of the best poutines I have ever eaten! The beef brisket is made fresh every day and you can tell. It was phenomenal. My friend got the brisket sandwich and was very impressed and my other friend had the fried chicken sandwich which she said was juicy, crispy and the perfect amount of breading. The guy who served us was funny and friendly and provided excellent customer service. Highly recommend this place.

Great reviews, so we knew we had to try it out.
What can I say but, amazing! I had the Burger of the Week which was a smoked half pound ground beef, pork and veal patty with many other tasty ingredients, sitting on top of a bed of smoked brisket, and topped with smoked bacon and a homemade aioli sauce!
You could see the smoke ring on the burger and brisket. The brisket, did I mention the brisket?! Melt in your mouth, wonderful flavour, so good.
Had cornbread as a side, was awesome as well but barely had any room after than amazing burger!
All of that plus a can of pop for the same price as a double quarter pounder BLT combo, and it's much better of a product, more flavour, and more of it.
These guys are an amazing value! Thanks for the awesome meal!

This was a great find! The owner was very courteous and great at explaining what the dishes were, and recommending sides.
The portions were very generous and the price excellent - a brisket on a bun sandwich with sides of Mac and cheese and chili was more than I could eat. I had to take the chili home. All were delicious, and taxes in. Came to $19.55! Great value, and the food was delicious!

Dropped in on a Saturday afternoon/suppertime. I had the 1/4 chicken, fries and the cornbread. The amount of food is amazing. The 1/4 chicken was closer to a 1/2 chicken, moist and very tasty. The corn bread was a huge chunk of bread and as good as you will find in the Maritimes. The fries are plentiful and crispy. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable and easy to chat with. I highly recommend it.

Ordered barbeque from this awesome restaurant while we were visiting Amherst, Nova Scotia. The ribs were unbelievable, beef brisket on a bun amazing and the pulled pork sandwiches were fantastic! Great sides as well. I was in Amherst for 2 and 1/2 weeks, tried a lot of restaurants. This place had the best food in town hands down. Congratulations on running an extraordinary restaurant!

Incredible BBQ with choices of sides, the brisket is phenomenal, and the baked beans are maybe the best I've ever had.
