This is a delightful place with a variety of animals. While it may not match the scale of near by Zoo, the facilities' managed and maintenance here is superior. Moreover, they have installed a playground for kids and provided ample green space. It is well-suited for families, offering a pleasant environment to spend quality time with children. There are sufficient amenities for kids to walk around and enjoy. The availability of ample parking and indoor stores further enhances the overall experience.

Visited this beautiful park first time for Christmas light the night. A stunning drive for 20km+ along the colourful display of lights all around! My kids really enjoyed themselves, their favourite part was meeting the grinch, clicking photos with him! We brought some snacks and Christmas decor from the little store they have for guests! A must see; do support them ❤ Definitely going to come back in the summer to see the animals and probably camping as well. Overall a sweet experience!

This is a nice place, difference kind of animals there. May be the scale is not seem like Calgary Zoo, but here facilities maintenance is better. Also, here installed playground for kids and have widen grass. It is suit for family reach. Finally, we appreciated the trainer for bear presentation, it very interesting and detail. Thank you all associate give us unforgettable experience.

We absolutely loved our visit to the Discovery Wildlife Park.
My mother in law is visiting from Wales and we wanted to take her to experience this park as we haven't been ourselves.
What a fantastic time we had. We rented a golf cart and we meandered through the pathways and stopped to check out the wildlife. Very interesting labels to explain what each animal is and where they are from.
We saw that picnic tables were spread out sporadically through out the park to have a picnic. There were also areas for children to play on.
The grounds were kept clean and grasses trimmed.
A little expensive but fun nonetheless.

Exceptional wild life park. Both my girls had a lot of fun especially in those unique play structures made from recycled materials all over the park as shown in images. I have attached the videos of few shows and boy the staff are good at that with lively vibe. Kids get to see all those animals from very close proximity with top safety. Ample parking, playground, washroom, sheltered and unsheltered picnic benches. Its quite spacious though, lots of walking, so for your little one bring stroller, food, water, sunscream etc. Over all highly recommended. Check out videos and images and Follow for more.

Just got back to Calgary from a visit to Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail, about a 1-hour drive. After visiting all the beautiful animals (including lions, camels, cougars, elk, bears, wolves, ostriches, porcupines, and so many more), we learned that the animals there tend to be rescues from such situations as orphans, confiscation, and zoo breeding programs. I now understand that such parks give these beautiful animals a place to live their lives in a safe place where they're nourished and otherwise well-cared for. Thanks so much to owners and staff for providing and caring for such a facility. One more small note: before visiting, I had mistakenly thought that we would be able to drive our car through the park. When we arrived, we were told that the walking route was about 1 km. We were with my 83 year-old mother, and I'd forgotten to bring the wheelchair. Fortunately, there were golf carts available for rent (show driver's licence & credit card) for a reasonable fee. So we did that, and a wheelchair would probably not have helped anyway as the paths are gravel. We'll be visiting again soon, on a season's pass next time!

Stunning drive thru light display in Innisfail. Easily accessible from Hwy 2, it's $30 per car. At the end of the tour there's a building with souvenirs, food and washrooms. The Grinch was there for photos.

Loved visiting the animals. What a great way to spend the afternoon. Boss and Piper were my highlight. They were so funny.

Our family really enjoyed visiting this wildlife park. Beautiful, healthy, nicely groomed animals in spacious enclosures; manicured lawn; clean facilities; friendly staff. Short lecture on the wolves was interesting and educational. Will definitely be back!
Special shout-out to awesome wolf Thor who playfully ran along the fence with my kids:)

This has got to be one of the nicest campgrounds we've ever stayed at. The price was completely reasonable with lots of add on amenities to choose from; including animal encounters! The bathrooms and showers were absolutely spotless and the playgrounds/sand boxes for the kids were a huge bonus. The animals at the park are very well taken care of with spacious enclosures and a multitude of enrichment items to choose from. I highly recommend talking to one of their keepers and learning the back stories about some of the animals that call the wildlife park home. All in all, don't pass by here, stay a night and walk the park, you won't regret it.

FINALLY! Someone got the right idea! Come see the zoo/wildlife reserve and spend a night or two. Fall asleep with...WITH the animals. A SAFE place for the whole family to see and learn(something you rarely get at a conventional zoo) from people who have a Passion for the welfare of these animals. If you even Think that you're a wildlife lover then this is a MUST See!
Now, if you'll excuse me...Berkley is teasing his neighbours, the wolves. I'll be looking for you all there! (bring loonies!)

Amazing gem here in Alberta!

Lived here over 20 years and finally decided to try it out. We will definitely be back! In summary the staff were all incredibly friendly, fun, informative and patient with all the questions. They truly love the animals and their job… it really shows.

Stayed at the Campground and that was an experience hearing the roars at night. Very clean powered sites, great service and worth it.

We also did the after hours experiences and that just topped an already amazing day off with an incredible experience. Up close with the wolves, wolf pups Loki and Thor and then a backstage tour with the lions… loved it and our tour guides!

I only wish they had some formal group activities for the kid groups and schools like weekend camps for scouts, guides, etc. Maybe snowshoe walks around the zoo in the winter and maybe winter camps as well.
They are very open to being contacted by the groups, but would be nice if they had pre-defined “packages” for these groups for activities all year round.

*Campground review - This is the first time that we went camping that is not up in the mountain and we are pleased how Billy, Shirley and Becca run the campsite. They are super friendly, patient and attentive. The campsite itself is very well-maintained. The washrooms and showers are clean too. The staffs are always around to assist you with everything you need. Plenty of activity for kids to spend time with. The campsite is a neighbor to the zoo and hearing the wolf's howl at night is such a wonderful experience for us. This site is also close to highway and train so if you can't tolerate sounds, choose the inner sites. Overall, two thumbs up and planning to spend camping here again next year. 😊

Most amazing experiences!! We stayed at a cabin on the campground. The staff was great and super friendly. The bathrooms and cabin was super clean and unkept. We spend the extra 5$ and fished for rainbow and brown trout and caught our limit in a half hour!

The park itself is an amazing place. All the animals are so happy and seem
To be thriving with all the Mental enrichment they get. All
The keepers were phenomenal. We did the bear encounter, big cats, serval cats and the wolf walk. The cats were so majestic and about 3 feet away. We got to feed the serval cat and she showed off her skills by jumping up and climbing for treats.

The bear encounter and wolf walks are once in a lifetime opportunities!! We interacted with 3 different bears! Angel the black bear, the white black bear and Barkley the Kodiak brown bear. Amazing.
Then the wolf walk the next night and it did not disappoint. So much wolf love.
The keepers were extremely knowledgeable and awnsered every question we had about the animals. Serena is amazing with the animals. She definitely loves her job and cares about the animals along with the rest of the staff. Wish I could remember the e rest of your names but you all rock.

We will be back lots in the future!

I was there is summer and walked around the place. It's fantastic what you are able to see. I can't wait for even more animals to become part of the park.

I just did the drive through the light the night displays and it was pretty cool. If you have young children they will love all the lights.

If you are looking for awesome Christmas presents such as ornaments or Christmas decor the you should stop by the gift shop they had excellent merchandise for a fantastic price.

Perfect for the family! I would recommend getting the golf cart or bringing a stroller for the younger ones. It can be lots of walking for 4 and under. The kids loved being able to feed the deer, they would lick through the fence with their tongues for the food(I'm sure hand feeding is probably a no no but we had a blast all the same)

Had a great time :)) Beautiful park like setting, quite a mix of animals. The fact that they are rescue animals gave me great pleasure to support this facility. We had our picture taken with two of the bears. Yes you have to pay for these things but that is how they keep it going. We also purchased some carved antler horn pendants which will help build their monkey exhibit. If you are looking for a large zoo experience this is not a place for you. That being said, the bear and lion show were fun and informative. There is also a wolf walk which we arrived to late for :(. Some animals like camel, ostrich and deer came right up to fence and you could pat them. Bring change as they have feeding bin stations for the animals. If you want to support a truly wonderful cause and have some fun!!! I believe everyone should go their. I know they can count on donations from my family.
