Port Moody Public Library

Small library and the city definitely needs to expand it, as well as build a new one on the other end of the city. Anyone who says libraries are obsolete needs to visit one after 3 pm. About 1/3 seniors, 1/3 teens, and 1/3 little ones with their parents. A new library could use more study/quiet rooms. It would also be nice to see the large fireplace in the sitting area being used in the fall and winter.

My go to place for quiet working time!! Also a great place for cherry blossom viewing

Such a cute library with a great selection and request program, incredibly friendly staff, lots of cool events for a variety of ages, but also quiet for studying. The entrance is amazing to see in Cherry-blossom season too! Within walking distance of the rec centre, Newport village, and the bus station-- great location!

This is such an amazing library. All of the staff are personable and very caring. They try to get to know you so you can have the best experience possible. It includes lots of programs for all ages, study spaces, and a vast variety of media for everyone's wants and needs! The library is very good at keeping the area safe and clean. Printing is also super easy and compared to some other places, a good price. Anyone who says anything negative about this place is obviously as mad as a box of frogs ;-)

The staff is very helpful and they have a nice variety of books and other media. Even when a lot of people are there it feels comfortable and spacious. It's our favourite library

What others have stated is true, this is a noisier run library but its not ridiculous. If some 5 year old kid comes in and cannot control himself it's not really his fault yet. Kids need time to grow up. I don't mind the noise but I also don't expect it to be quiet in here.

If you need a really quiet adult only library in the area, go to Douglas College. In my experience school libraries are the quietist. I like ambient noise and distracting kids being too loud, it helps me focus being in an immersive environment.

My mom first took me here when I was 3 years old. She has passed now and I am 23 now, still love to focus here. Love you mom.

Love the night sky view at here even with the lights. I enjoy reading here day or night.

I find this place an oasis in the middle of the city to wind down in a very nice atmosphere with a good read in your hand. Very friendly staff.

I love that the new ins are displayed right when you walk in, makes it easy to quickly browse through. Picked up my first 'Blind Date with a Book' which i think is such a fun concept, i absolutely love the idea and ended up thoroughly enjoying a book i personally would never have thought to pick up otherwise!

Fantastic staff - every single one of them! Excellent infant toddler programme. An all round nice little library. Donated gas fireplace in the front section with cozy chairs. Study booths a kids are with donated train set. Staff are extremely helpful and resourceful.

Great library. Not as new as the Coquitlam library building, but i kinda love that! They always have the books I want in stock, because not as many people seem to patronise this library. It's quiet, has great selection of books, TV, and movies, including plenty of new stuff. Lovely location, and a great quiet place to browse and retreat.

A newer and clean Library. It's medium sized and the staff is very helpful.

I love the place it is conveniently located in Port Moody, you can extend the time online for your borrowed books and you can also use the book return drop-in for after hours. This summer together with city hall they had an initiative to encourage kids to read more and it worked with my 8y. old. So thank you guys.

Managing the Covid 19 situation in a very professional manner. Appear to have increased their new book selection.
Now that Covid seems to be stabilised the Library has more or less returned to normal except there are still plexiglass screens between the staff and patrons. The staff are still friendly and helpful.

Great collection of young children books and fantastic librarians. Story time for babies are very fun and personable during non-covid times.
