The Rum Runner Restaurant and Pub

This is an amazing stop along the highway on a long car journey, perfect for a rest and sit down meal if you have the time. The ambiance of the main room immediately draws you in with a rustic feel, and they have a dog-friendly patio (weather permitting) and a large room downstairs for events. The price is moderate to steep, but they make up for it with enormous portions and delicious food. We got the beef au jus and yorkshire puddings to start, then the black n blue burger, and the chefs pie, and were blown away by the amount. We were told it was a new menu, just chanflged today and the new items were delicious. Our waitress was working solo with a full room, and nonetheless she was friendly, quick, and attentive. Really glad we decided to stop here on our journey, and hopefully will use as a halfway stop again in the future.

My mom and I came here and the food was really good, really large portions! My mom got the Mexican chicken and I got the salmon, we both enjoyed our food! However other waitresses paid more attention to our table than our own waitress.

Every plate coming out of the kitchen looked delicious! The portions were big for the price, and the quality didn't suffer because of it. I would recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a sit down place to eat while you're in the Pass. The atmosphere had a taverny vibe. Service was exceptional, and the burger was huge (and tasty).

Had an amazing 8 oz Sirloin steak. Enjoyed it very much. Got the waffle fries with it. They were very good too. Veggies very fresh.

I highly recommend this place to anyone who pass through this town. Best calamari I have ever had in my life and quality of food and fresh fish & salads makes it just perfect. I was sad that they didn’t had bison burger but they made it worth by other food. I was there back in February 28, had to come back and write this review, cos they definitely deserve it. Amazing job everyone.

Have to say so beautiful here view and fresh air, First time and really like the natural. Water smell like spoil eggs 😂 but only first time you come and when you in water you don’t smell it. Don’t go at night because the road unsafe with out light and many cute animals.

This gem place is a must stop to try. All the food I've tried is a1 great. Coffee's good and hot, as well as the beers are cold. A go to place for home like food. The atmosphere, service and food will keep you coming back.

Had the Santa fe salad and it was delicious and a large portion. The side toast that came with the salad was yummy.
Hubby had the bison burger and he said it was delicious .
Servers were on top of things, was a wonderful meal out and will go again.

The most amazing calamari and burgers (highly recommend the bison burger), a gorgeous patio, and great service. We went twice on our camping trip and we will definitely be back!

I have been visiting this place for years. I love it.
Food is always fantastic. Great value and excellent service from the staff. A must do if you're hungry and driving through.

If you don't like that there are dead animals mounted on the walls, then this place will not appeal to you. To me this is a very cool restaurant. Or you could sit at the bar, as far as I know animals are welcome like dogs you can sit out on the patio with your favourite canine. I've eaten here a number of times over the years, I can tell you their pizza is excellent. I've had their burgers there again they are top-quality, healthy portions. I had a steak there a couple years ago and it was superb. If you're in a hurry their service is prompt and efficient. Some might consider their prices to be a little on the high side, but given how quickly they serve and the quality of the food directly on the highway; for me this is excellent value for your dollar because I had a big mushroom burger and I was back in the car and rolling again in a half an hour. This is not a diner where your lunch will want out in less than 1 hour, this is high-quality food at a fair price delivered in a timely manner.

If you are traveling with your dog, this patio is dog friendly! So fantastic!! There were a couple other dogs there and everyone was calm and courteous to iur animal friends enjoy the patio too! The atmosphere was lovely, very inviting and wait staff were super attentive.

The food came out very quickly and was delish. I had the haddock with vegetables and boy it was so good. The perfect amount of food for me. The veggies were cooked and seasoned well.

Overall I had a fantastic time here and would definitely come back here again.

A beautiful day and drive to such a great place. The best burger I have ever had and a lovely friendly waitress. Make sure to stop here if you're passing through.

Really good food and extremely friendly staff and decent drinks and you can’t beat the charm in this place you’re passing through here you gotta stop and get some food

Steak and shrimp were perfect, halibut tasted amazing.
It was over capacity so we had to wait to get in, but once there was a spot the staff were awesome with seating us and taking care of us.

Sorry I did not take photos of my food but the food was delicious! Each burger was homemade, large and lots of fries or side with your food. You may or may not want to get an appy because of the portion sizes! We had their pickle bacon Caesar’s as well and omg. So good!

The atmosphere is what takes you first when entering The Rum Runner. Old wood, old decor, people laughing and beer flowing. The chow is great and I am really impressed with the selection, from butter chicken, to steak sandwiches, gluten-free options, and they didn't even forget about the vegetarians!! Come one come all, The Rum Runner is a place for the ages.

I like vinegar on my fries, and this is the only restaurant that I've seen that had it on the table. Did not have to ask for it. Well done !!
