H&R Block

I highly recommend H&R Block for tax items. I have gone there for the past 7 years and have found the workers pleasant and very knowledgeable. Any questions I had or any errors I made were well explained in a positive way. It takes 5-6 years to fully train an H&R worker and the Powell River office workers on Duncan are well on their way. I will always go there for anything to do with taxes!.

I've had excellent service from this office, particularly for a friend who has dementia and hasn't kept track of his paperwork. Fast and very careful to get the best possible results.

We have had H & R Block do our taxes for over 20 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. They have been extremely efficient and knowledgable about having our taxes prepared and in all these years we have not had one single negative issue.

Well H & R, I have decided I don't care anymore, and I have changed my mind. I have outlined to you in my letter what your problems are, but my fellow Powell River citizens need to here this. I have been a customer of yours for 5 years, and for the first 4 years, after entrusting you with my tax return, you would call me and my call display (which shows all of my contacts) showed a call from you. However, this year dragged on until I called you and encountered someone who treated me like an inconvenience to her day and did not check the status of my return. Then in frustration a long time later I called again and a polite person checked but told me they had called numerous times which could not understand because I never received a call display of H & R. Then that person eventually angrily berated me listing all the calls they made. So I went to pick up my file where I was greeted by rude people and even though I never verbally abused anyone in your office you pretty much threw me out. After checking my phone records, you were calling from an "unknown" number which is recommended as not to answer. I wish there was a "zero" rating but I have to rate you 1.

1 star for Tammy who rudely came out to tell me she can`t help me. 5 stars to Dot and the other employees who went out of their way to help me.

We picked up our taxes today after waiting two weeks. They were sent to Richmond to be done. For two taxes returns that were not complicated we were charged $472.00!!!!
Although the lady at the office was very polite and friendly we will not be returning there next year….way too expensive

This store has been bought by some rude, backwards thinking people. My wife and I had the previous owner, Chantale do our taxes for the past 8 years. Sadly, from now on we will be doing our taxes at Bydand, at the mall. They do your taxes for $65 not $95 and they don't make loyal customers wait out in the wind and rain for a half an hour. These women laughed at me and we're very rude when I said I was taking my business elsewhere. Guess what? You bought a business in a small town, not in the city. Word of mouth means something here and I will be telling everyone I know about the treatment I received at this business.

I am told I can't go in and sit with an agent to discuss a tax issue. I can PAY in person but they won't talk to me about any issues in person?? I'm so confused. If they gave me a reason, but it's just NO. It's a one-of problem I have. They flatly and rudely refused to give me an appt - stating they only do appt over the phone. They gave me no reason why, just that it's the PR office policy. I understand the worries of early Covid days, but we've all adapted and learned to have some kind of normalcy. H&R Canada Website states you can do taxes on the phone, online or IN PERSON. Can you imagine a bank refusing in person appts?

Owner of H&R responded to my review and on this site. They stated they wanted to make things right. We spoke and they had ZERO intention Irma making anything right! Their post below was complete bologna! They are completely untrustworthy!! Besides , I had already found a company to do my taxes… someone I met with in person and I trust and have faith in.

You know, it helps when the correct business hours are posted. Wheres your HR lol. They dont open until 10am

Your hours of operation are like something out of the twilight zone! Closed Monday-Wednesday. And open from Thursday to Saturday. Then closed again until next Thursday. Deplorable.
