Champlain Trail

This is a really nice, easy trail located right next to the Champlain Lookout - and honestly, if you make it all the way to the lookout in the first place, and your physically able, you should do this relatively short but very pleasant trail.

This is not for those using strollers or mobility devices - there are rocks, plenty of stairs, and one section where you traverse across a rocky type of creek bed.

You will have the opportunity to check-out another lookout in this trail.

Perfect trail for someone who want to hike, run, or trail bike. I would say it's intermediate for someone hiking or running. If you wanna challenge yourself, take trail 33. Doing the entire 11.5 kms loop starting from p12, took us around 2h:45m. Surprisingly, also spotted two snakes on our way. Hiking by the flowing stream ans the sound, was joyous to me :)

I really enjoyed our walk on the Champlain trail. The warrens that it has large tracts that are uphill, but it is worth the effort. Parking from each lake will allow you to take the trails all the way up to the Champlain Lookout. Just takes about an hour and is worthwhile. Especially as the national capital commission has inexplicable rules about being able to actually drive into the park. It is often closed. During the winter… In the afternoon… If there is a chance of rain…

This trail explores the top of the Eardley Escarpment, part of the Canadian Shield. Stop at Champlain Lookout, where you can learn about the unique plants that grow on the Escarpment, and the geological history of the area.

Its a must, get out there and visit this amazing Gatineau provincial park, especially this time of year, fall colours are at there most pick.
