Lovely restaurant in the centre of Sofia. The menu is superb and the service friendly and prompt. The drinks menu was also extensive, including a variety of local non-alcoholic options, which I did not expect in Eastern Europe.

This place was recommended by several locals but always with the caveat that it is expensive. We found it great value for the quality and quantity of the food in a lovely atmosphere.

If you are visiting from the UK or similar economy, you will not find this expensive at all compared to what you would pay for food this good in other capitals or large cities.

Nested in the heart of Sofia this restaurant has a variety of choices to offer. The service is impeccable. Definitely a value for money resto when you are visiting Sofia. Try the traditional plate with chicken and you are in for a nice surprise🤤.

I chose to dine in for lunch based on the rave reviews. They did not disappoint!

Food: 5/5 - I had the lamb and beef moussaka prepared Bulgarian style which was tomato base. It was delicious. I was too full to make an attempt at dessert. Note: they offer vegan and vegetarian food choices. If you’re looking for good authentic Bulgarian cuisine, this is the place.
Service: 5/5 - my server, Ivan was helpful in making a few recommendations based on the restaurant’s specialty - lamb dishes.
Atmosphere: 5/5 - a perfect setting for any occasion whether it be a business meeting, date night or special event. There are 2 parts to the restaurant where there’s a covered outside dining or restaurant inside.

On our way to Greece, we spent two days in Sofia. While strolling along one of its key streets downtown, we landed in "Ресторант Щастливеца". Its location is very central but be aware - you need to walk through a passage first in order to find it! Now to the restaurant itself - wow, what an ambiance! Very elegant and offers a delightful culinary experience. The menu boasts a diverse selection of dishes, from traditional Bulgarian cuisine (highly recommended) to indulging in all kind of international flavors. This is the type of restaurants when you can certainly say „there is something for every taste.“ The staff provides excellent service and friendly touch! Applause to the owners, well-done!

The food was simply delicious, it’s been a long time since I haven’t found a place this good with the food.

Great atmosphere and service (special thanks to a waitress speaking Greek who recommended a few great options).
The dishes were amazingly cooked especially the chicken with the truffle cream and the biscuit cake.

Rather expensive restaurant which has excellent food and a very good service. The desserts are especially worth mentioning. The selection of wines is very impressive.

This was our first meal in Bulgaria and it has definitely set a high expectation. We went there for an early dinner and luckily it wasn't too busy. Lovely ambiance, very nice and attentive wait staff, great quality of food that I couldn't get enough of! This as the first meal in Bulgaria definitely exceeded expectation - I would go back in a heart beat!

Ambient, food, staff - I cannot say any bad critique/comment about this place. You won't regret leaving a spare dime in this restaurant for any dish.

We made a booking so this time we got in. The food was delicious, not overly salty or oily. The service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our last dinner in Sofia before our flight the next day.

Excellent modern and traditional Bulgarian dishes in a really nice interior, beautiful decoration and a nice atmosphere with dim light and music. Great service by our waiter, very attentive and friendly. The prices are higher than average, especially for the dishes of the day which are not on the menu, so pay attention to that. If you are ok with spending somewhat more, the whole experience is worth it.

We had 2 starters which were a good size, a main, side and a Bulgarian Red that was off menu. Food was so tasty. Ordered all from the Bulgarian seasonal section of the menu

Service was spot on, we sat for about 3 hrs and weren’t rushed at all. Loads of other tables bdays so they were getting cakes and candles and a happy bday song. Added to the experience.

I suppose its the best restaurant in Sofia in terms of decoration,location and tastes. Tried couple of local wines and dishes and all were perfect. Very cozy place

I’ve been to the first restaurant Shrastliveca and I’m happy this turn into a lovely chain of restaurants. It’s is named after our famous Bulgarian writer ✍ from the past Aleko Konstantinov who writhe the novel “Shtastliveca”The food was simply delicious, it’s been a long time since I haven’t found a place this good with the food.

If you are in the center of Sofia, we recommend you to visit this place. Atmosphere is very nice inside, service is fast and the waiters are extremely polite and knowledgeable. We were impressed that we could order menu without milk products which most places its hard to find. Tolirating vegan menu also. They have delicious salads, we had vegan lasagna and cauliflower steak, everything was yammi. So defenetly you can find the best food there in the area.

I always enjoy dining at Shtastlivetsa. The food is always very tasty, the staff are friendly and supportive and the atmosphere is quite pleasant. Highly recommend the place.🤌👍

Absolutely loved it. We ended up ordering more and more foods because the recommended food by the staff was just too delicious. Shakshka salad was mind blowing. Their kunefe was the best I had so far. Had rose petals on it! The best meal I had in Europe!!
