It’s a place that keeps the old arts and crafts alive. It’s not big, it’s not much, but it is an interesting part of the town.
The area around it is nice for a walk, especially when it’s sunny. There’s a nice cafe next to one of its entrances, but none of the places there accept card payments. Luckily, there are a few banks abd ATM’s nearby.

Nestled in the heart of Lovech, Bulgaria, the Covered Bridge stands as a picturesque testament to the town's rich history and architectural heritage. My recent visit to this enchanting landmark left me captivated by its timeless beauty and the charming ambiance it exudes.
The Covered Bridge, also known as the "Kolyu Ficheto Bridge," spans the Osam River and seamlessly connects the Varosha and Hisar districts of Lovech. Constructed in 1874 by the master builder Kolyu Ficheto, the bridge is a stunning example of 19th-century Bulgarian Revival architecture. Its wooden roof and stone-paved pathway not only provide shelter from the elements but also create an inviting atmosphere that transports visitors to a bygone era.
As I strolled across the bridge, I couldn't help but marvel at the intricate details of the architecture, from the gracefully arched openings to the ornate wooden carvings that adorned the sides. The combination of stone and woodwork showcases a remarkable level of craftsmanship, reflecting the dedication and skill of the artisans of that era.
What sets the Covered Bridge apart is its ability to harmoniously blend historical significance with contemporary charm. The bridge has been meticulously preserved and renovated over the years, ensuring that it remains not just a relic of the past, but a vibrant part of Lovech's present.
The views from the bridge are nothing short of spectacular. The Osam River flowing beneath, surrounded by lush greenery and the town's historic buildings, creates a postcard-worthy scene. I found myself lingering on the bridge, soaking in the serenity and appreciating the timeless beauty of Lovech.
Visitors will also appreciate the convenient location of the Covered Bridge, as it serves as a gateway to some of Lovech's other attractions. The nearby old town with its cobblestone streets, charming houses, and historical landmarks can easily be explored on foot, making the Covered Bridge a central point for anyone eager to delve into the town's rich cultural tapestry.
In conclusion, the Covered Bridge in Lovech, Bulgaria, is more than just a crossing over the Osam River; it's a journey through time and a celebration of Bulgaria's architectural legacy. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an architecture buff, or simply seeking a tranquil escape, the Covered Bridge promises a delightful experience that will leave you enchanted and inspired. Lovech's Covered Bridge is a must-visit destination that seamlessly weaves together the past and the present, inviting you to step into a world where history and beauty converge.

Its very interesting bridge, one of a kind in Bulgaria. Build from wood, it looks very impressive from the outside over the river Osam. There are also few interesting shops inside that are selling hand made products. I loved a small shop for leather bags and wallets, the owner was even inside making products and was very friendly. The prices are very good for real leather and hand made quality.

Really nice bridge, nicer in the inside than the outside at the time I visited it. However, the best view is from the riverside, where you can see the nice colored buildings next to it and the image is nicely mirrored in the water.

Beautifully restored bridge, with artisans shops inside. Maybe due to the winter season only a few shops were open, but this is for sure a place to go while visiting Lovech.

Unfortunately we came in the wrong time and in a wrong season because few of the shops were closed and it was less sellers. BUT, the bridge itself looks amazing, I mean, the way it was constructed. It's crazy. Would love to visit again! :)
