Everything we tried was delicious, paid 22 leva for 4 pastries which I think is pretty reasonable considering it’s not your average bakery banitsa. I loved the interpretation of a baklava with condensed milk and hazelnut spread

So happy to see they' ve learned their lesson and have made the necessary changes. My first couple of visits were catastrophic, but that's all in the past. Right now the quality of the food and service is absolutely impeccable. Back on the top of my list for favorite Sunday brunch spot.

It's a nice place that functions as a shop, bakery and diner. All this happens in a single hall. The place offers a lunch menu, that is well balanced, tasty and presents interesting choices. A drawback is the lack of many seats - only one table, with around 14 seats is available for those grabbing food to eat at the place. Some may find this communal experience off-putting, but I think the owners have done a great job in building the atmosphere.

So, the cooked meals are nice!

Only thing is, in winter - if you eat indoors it’s quiet cold, even if you sit as far a possible from the door.
But i return for the cooked menu.

I can go to Hlebar everyday. I loved everything that I have tasted. Simply amazing. Their lunch menu is always soooooo goodd!

One of my favorite places for lunch in Sofia. The food is fresh and tasty, and they have different options every day. Very nice atmosphere, great staff and an overall friendly and relaxed vibe.

Happy to find this place and enjoy delicious scrambled eggs Bulgarian style. Also all pastries are freshly baked and yummy. Place is very cozy and are is very nice. Good price. Worth visiting for sure.

The lunch specials here are of exceptional value. If you can't read the daily menu in Bulgarian, ask one of the friendly staff for help. The soups are fantastic, as well as the sandwiches. Make sure you get there around noon sharp because the seating places fill up quickly.

Lovingly designed bistro with a great selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. Very uncomplicated, whether to take away or eat on site. In addition to soups and very good bread, there are many everyday foods such as dairy products but also specialties for children. One of my favorite places in Sofia.

Definitely one of the most creative, healthy and inspiring joints in Sofia. Beautiful layout, fantastic service, elegant menus based on vegan ingredients, zero waste. Ask for the specials, be sure to take a freshly-blended Aryan to drink, grab the country's best banitsa to go if you are rushed or just work alone with a perfect coffee. Excellent!

in Sofia for a quick (but slow food) eating experience. Everything is great.

Great place if you like bio food, cheese from farms, milk in the old fashioned way. They cook everything on the stove in the same place they sell it 😊! It’s great because everything is fresh. By the way, I am vegetarian and there is always something tasty for me. Variety of bio stuff, vegan biscuits. And most of all-always great desserts-cakes, tea banana cakes, cream caramel (very big portion!)! Visit Hlebar! You won’t regret!

Absolutely amazing! Was hard you find a place for a good breakfast, but this one fill up any criteria. Good food and nice people!

Jewel of the neighborhood - delicious pastries, tasty lunch to eat in house or at home, good coffee all that topped off by a hardworking and friendly staff.

Fanciful Banitza - the thick, on the premises made, filo dough banitzas are to die for. The ground lamb filled banitza is a must try, so is the strudel banitza. So are all flavor varieties, come to think of it.5/5

Pretty much all breads are outstanding as well. 5/5

Soups are hit or miss, generally overpriced baby food, overtly pureed. 3/5

Ambience is prefect for open floor, very high ceilings, hipster bakery. 5/5

Hlebar is emblematic bakery and lunch place, with a great variety of daily dishes, breads, and pastries.
Everything is cooked with fresh, healthy products, and is always super delicious!
I like the atmosphere as well - you can either take away or stay for a quick bite (self served).
Definitely a must in Sofia.

Very good quality without exception. Tried many times and there was no mistake, the dishes are tasty and traditional Bulgarian! The prices are not cheap, but it worths every penny.

Fresh and healthy food! Hlebar is suitable to go for breakfast or brunch. My choice today was creamy carrot soup with ginger which was super delicious!! For second course I ate ogreten which is a dish from potatoes and broccoli. Highly recommended!
