Grand Hotel Sofia

I had a wonderful stay here. The room was huge and beautifully designed. Bathtub was amazing and bed was super comfortable. Right next to Christmas market and walkable to all places of interests. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

I visited Grand Hotel Sofia in a business related matter. I attended a cocktail there, so no knowledge of the rooms.
However, the location is excellent, the atmosphere inside is excellent, as well. The staff are quite friendly and obviously well trained.
Would 100% recommend

The hotel was fantastic. The lobby bar was nice and had great drinks. The room was large, well appointed and had a desk with plenty of room to relax or work. Each morning the breakfast was nice. I would stay here often.

Nice big room. Very central location close to all the sights and restaurants. The elevators are small and close after 3 seconds. It is a 20 years old hotel so some things are dated. But on the whole, a very nice hotel and highly recommended.

Rooms are really spacious, like 50 sqm spacious. Very clean and every day cleaning service. Staff is nice, some more than others. The location is central and near restaurants and shops. Breakfast is 19 eur which I think is quite expensive for what it offers.

I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and it will be my first choice for every future visit to Sofia. It is very well positioned in the center of the city, it has parking included in the price, staff are professional, and the rooms are huge, as never seen before. Not only huge (50-60m2), but very clean and really well mentioned. The beds are super relaxing, and they serve quality food. Highly recommended.

We stayed 6 days on business. The room was very large, quiet and comfortable. As other reviewers have mentioned, the air conditioning is off during winter which makes the room hot and dry and a little uncomfortable for sleeping. You cannot open the windows in the room.
Apart from that small problem this hotel offers a wonderful restaurant, 'Shades of Red' with a mostly european menu. The food is 5 star and presented very well in an elegant setting. I have to give a big thank you to the attentive service of all the wait staff, especially Vesalin and Borislav who made our meals at the hotel very pleasant.
The hotel also has the Grand Cafe offering small meals and a large range of desserts, coffee and tea.
The hotel also has a spa with a range of therapies and a gym though I didn't try them so no comments.
The Lobby and bar are also pleasant.

This hotel is not your designer minimalist hotel. It is a hotel that inspires old world charm with spacious luxury, the rooms and bathrooms are huge and the furnishings are very solid.
The location is central with short walks to most of Sofias attractions.
I would definitely stay here again.

It was a wonderful stay at this hotel again. The location is perfect in the centre of Sofia, the room and even the whole hotel are in a luxurious condition and everything is in a well shape. The staff is so kind, helpful and professional. The breakfast was very nice with a big choise and even little local specialties (small banitsa for example ☝).
If you stay in Sofia this is the place to be! I will come again often and I will regard this to collegues and friends.

This hotel is awesome, amazing location, great service, with high-end design and finishes. Breakfast buffet could be improved a bit but everything else was so good I will keep it at 5 stars.

Went there only to the WC due to big need. The place was clean and modern. It deserves to go there if you need to do this Big Biznis somewhere! I give this place 5 stars

I recently stayed at The Grand Hotel Sofia over Christmas and I had a fantastic stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and went out of their way to make sure I had all I needed for my stay. The bedroom was spacious, and the bed was comfortable - a delight to come back to after a day of exploring the city. The park and outside area were beautifully decorated for Christmas. The onsite restaurant has fantastic food, and the excellent breakfast buffet was the perfect start to the day. The hotel really embraced the festive season and provided a wonderful holiday experience. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, enjoyable stay in Sofia.

I only had interaction with staff at the lobby. But first impression is all I needed to set that hotel as my go to every time I go to Sofia, Bulgaria

This is a 5-star service-level hotel with decors from the 80s. I honestly didn't expect much from looking at the photos, but booked the hotel for 2 nights because of the location (close to everything), the price, and a free parking. The hotel had a small fitness center for its guest too.

Our room turned out to be better than expected, despite the green carpet :) We had the view of the mountain and a room that was big enough to host a cocktail party for 20 people. The bathroom was very luxurious with the bubble bath amenity. If they did modernize the decor, the price would probably triple. So enjoy it now the way it is!

We slept in the hotel just for the last night of our week in Bulgaria, and it was a pity because it is really beautiful. We would have spent more nights.
Big space in the rooms, clean spaces, and great service.
The lobby also is really nice.
We tried the spa, it is really small but anyway the price is related to that.

This is an excellent hotel, located in the very heart of the Bulgarian capital Sofia. It is close by all major sights and sounds of the capital. It is easy to get to most places in the downtown area on foot and the hotel is close to the metro and other modes of public transport. Both check in and check out were smooth, quick, and easy. The staff was professional, attentive, and kind. The rooms are clean and spacious. The buffet breakfast was decent and offered a diversity of options. This certainly is one of the best hotels in town

I stayed here with my wife and two kids for 3 nights at the end of September, 2022. The hotel is somewhat dated, but very pleasant. Solid and warm, with a lot of wood panels. Very comfortable beds and a modern bathroom- exactly what we needed after flying in from the USA and suffering some serious jetlag. Excellent location, right in the middle of everything worth seeing in Sofia. The staff was very polite and helpful. We never tried the food- there are just too many other options as you walk right outside on the street. Check out the beautiful bronze statues scattered all over the lobby- there was even one in our room! Great place- would love to stay here again on our next trip to Sofia.

Great place with great staff! People who are ready to walk a mile further in order to make the guest happier. And they do it with a smile! The location is at the very centre of Sofia. The food at their restaurant is delicious beyond expectations. Even if you stay in another hotel - do visit the restaurant!

Enoyed every minute of being a guest in this hotel from the minute we arrived until when we left.

The rooms were impressive, lots of little nice touches like robes, slippers and toiletries in case you didn't bring any. Hairdryer, coffee machine, loaded mini bar, snacks basket and more.

We upgraded to get the higher rooms with the views. The twin room was slightly smaller than the double but it still had masses of space in the room and bathroom.

My daughter and her friend booked the spa two days to relax after a long day of walking.

My wife and i opted for the massages, she had the hot stone massage, i had the regular massage.

With regards to the restaurant, i can only say that we had one meal ordered from the lobby bar delivered to our room and that was lovely, so not able to comment on the restaurant menu.

We didn't have a car but there is parking at the front of hotel and an underground car park.

The staff were lovely.
