The windmill is emblematic of the city of Nessebar and is a kind of symbol of the city. It is located on the bridge between the old and the new town in Nessebar. Benches have been built around the authentic windmill that remains from the Turkish era, and the view of the sea adds even greater beauty, which is why it is the most visited and preferred place by both locals and guests of the country. Up to the second floor of the windmill, you reach a massive staircase where there was once a living room, and on the third floor there was a work room.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Nessebar Wind Mill several years ago, and it remains one of my fondest memories to this day. Nestled within the picturesque town of Nessebar, Bulgaria, this enchanting landmark captured my imagination with its timeless beauty and rich history.

As I approached the windmill, I couldn't help but admire its traditional architecture and its seamless integration with the surrounding landscape. The whitewashed walls, quaint wooden beams, and the iconic spinning blades transported me to a bygone era. The windmill is perched on a hill, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the Black Sea, which only added to the magic of the experience.

Stepping inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality from the staff, who were not only knowledgeable about the windmill's history but also passionate about preserving its legacy. They provided insightful information about the significance of windmills in the region, adding depth to my visit.

One of the highlights was climbing to the top of the windmill, where I could witness the impressive machinery that once powered the millstones. The views from up there were simply mesmerizing, with the sprawling town of Nessebar unfolding below, showcasing its charming streets, ancient ruins, and the sparkling sea beyond.

The Nessebar Wind Mill also houses a small museum that offers a glimpse into the lives of the millers and their role in the local community. The exhibits were well-curated, showcasing artifacts, photographs, and historical accounts that painted a vivid picture of the windmill's significance in the past.

After immersing myself in the windmill's history, I had the opportunity to relax in the nearby café, which provided a delightful selection of traditional Bulgarian treats. Savoring a cup of aromatic coffee while indulging in freshly baked pastries was the perfect way to complete my visit.

It served as a testament to the region's cultural heritage and provided a glimpse into the lives of those who worked tirelessly to harness the power of the wind. Nesebar is a lovely place to visit beautiful old buildings and tourist shops.

A remarkable and symbolic place for Nessebar. The windmill is a must see sight but it's inevitable to miss it since it is on your way to the Old Town.

An absolute must if you’re in the area. This is not only one of the seaside’s iconic sights, but of Bulgaria in general.

Represents the enter to the old Town and is visible from the new part of Nesebyr already. Nice to see.

As you enter the Old Town this is the first thing you see and it sticks out, not really seeming to belong, but it's a nice sight against the water.
