Ресторант „Dimitrov“

Amazing times at Dimitrov. After a few bad restaurant experiences in Sofia, we were happily shown that it's still possible to get a great meal here.

Dimitrov is the owner and main chef. His vision is to provide a cozy environment, like at home, where you'd eat home-cooked food. You'd sit down for your meal, rather than take it to go and think of something else while eating.

The atmosphere indoors is indeed cozy - and so is the food! It's an interesting blend of Bulgarian tradition and modernity. There are salads with trendy ingredients like quinoa, spelt, etc. There is a main from zucchini pasta. And yet, the pulled pork I had was exactly as if it were cooked by my grandma. I even asked the waiter if their chef was named Krasi!

Oh, and let's have a round of applause for the staff. They were the sweetest thing. We had two waiters, both of whom did everything they could to make our evening special. Due to health reasons, we have lots of restrictions, but they went out of their way to make the dishes perfect for us. We had good laughs when my German wife spoke Bulgarian to them :).

Overall, I was very positively surprised and I highly recommend Dimitrov's. In a city where everybody cakes glutamate onto the grilled meat they serve, it was a breath of fresh air to find a place that serves real, tasty traditional food. And with a modern twist on top of that - even my vegetarian wife was happy with the choice and the meal.

Simply fantastic. Super polite service, delicious food, especially the burgers, which are classes above some other burger restaurants near by. Would visit again for sure.

Quiet when we were here but it was outside regular eating times. Lovely interior, nice background music, great service and great food. Could not fault anything. The homemade lemonade is great too, loads of different flavours. Would highly recommend!!

Good music, good food, really good Bulgarian wine. It’s only my first full day in Bulgaria but I really appreciated this place. I was alone but I felt I could really relax. The gentleman who waited on me, I think he was the owner, was kind and happy. The food was also delicious. From the decor of the place you wouldn’t think so, but the food felt comfortable and like home. I felt very honored to have eaten here.

Best service in Sofia! We really liked the waitor, he was very kind & attentive! Even though we were coming quite late, they were cooking for us - it was very tasty high recommendation!!

Very tasty food (chicken with sweet potatoes and mushrooms is particularly delicious), portions aren't small, a simple clean interior with good atmosphere and pleasant music. Good service, attentive and quick. No complaints.

The lunch menu is above expectations and so is the service. First time the pasta is al dente as it should be.

Small and intimate restaurant ...Delicious food (not Bulgarian cuisine ) , perfect atmosphere, silent music ,very friendly attitude of Mr Dimitrov. Don't expect that kind of "book-menu" with many options like in other restaurants . They have just a few but everything it's so good .one of the best restaurants tried in Bulgaria. I eat here every time when I'm in Sofia.

I honestly think this restaurant was the best one i tried in Sofia. The waitress was so kind and sweet, the food was absolutely great (i ate the cow's cheek with potatoes) and the dessert was fantastic! Perfect experience, highly recommend.

Delicious food and really nice service

I'm not one to rate a place with 5* and we went in with high expectations after reading some of the reviews here, and somehow they were still surpassed. Everything was absolutely on point, from the impeccable service to the flawless food and the good taste in decoration. Definitely worth going back. Congratulations!
