Nevyastata Ecotrail

Great short and easy walk in a lovely forest. Only some 550 meters until you get to see some surprising views of wild rocks and amazing flowers. When you climb up the short trail it gets only better and better.

There is a big sign and a parking lot aside the road, so it’s easy to find. The trail is well maintained, clean and accessible for everyone, even for children and family dogs. It's very popular, so it can be a little crowded at times, but the views are well worth any small delays. There is a gazebo, tables and benches, an alpine zip line at the top, and a food truck in the parking lot. The path is a must see in Smolyan and you shouldn't miss it.

Awesome spot! Love the trails, the views and also the proximity to the beautiful "Monastery "Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon". Even if you aren't going to zip line (which we won't here), still climb to it's peak. Gorgeous views! The food truck guys are friendly and were patient with my lack of Bulgarian skills, but knew enough to get my orders. Burgers are huge! Fries are tasty! Nice cup of espresso!

There is a parking lot at the start of the trail so you would not miss it. After an easy 15 min walk through the forest which is accessible for children and not-trained people you get to a first viewing place. Then you can climb further if you wish to get the best views from above. Must-see in Smolyan. Especially impressive after rain.

There are 2 separate trails from the parking lot, one on the right to the Eco trail and one on the left to Smolyan Fortress. Both trails are wonderful, mostly flat, easy to walk and offer unbelievable views!. Note there's no guard rails on the eco-trail with a very steep downward plunge. The fortress has some guard rails. The view is phenomenal on both trails!!! Right next to the parking lot there's A beautiful monastery. No entrance fee anywhere, Great Food truck with a large variety of hot&cold fast food options, snacks, Coffee etc. A souvenir booth with very unique items, hand-made, local and most importantly kind and helpful people on both!. One sweet old lady selling her hand made trinkets on the trail 😊 Porter potty on-site, Trash cans and benches along route, well maintained.

Short but very beautiful with lots of scenery. Bring good mountain shoes as it is sometimes steep and slippery in the winter.

"Nevyastata" eco trail is located in The Rhodopes Mountain. It starts from the turnout for "St. Panteleimon" monastery. Its length is about 1 km. There is a gazebo, tables and benches. The path leads to the rock with the same name "Nevyastata". Climbing up the rock is quite steep and you must be careful. It opens beautiful views. There is an amazing view of the town of Smolyan from the top of the rock.Trail is not really long and is quite relaxing.
For the adrenaline seekers, there's also an alpine zipline and an artificial wall for climbing was built on the top. It takes about 30min to go from the turnout to the rock.

Beautiful, but a little dangerous in winter if you're not prepared or experienced.

Very easy but very beautiful trail actually more of a path but I highly recommend going to the end where there is a zip liner a.k.a Alpine trolley ... However I chickened out and didn't do it...

It good for children, by the end of the path we found alpine zip line and it was really fun

Incredible nature. I suggest you to visit it during the winter as well.

Excellent place to visit if you would like to take a small hike (about an hour both directions) among nature. Extrordinary "eagle eye" view of Smolyan city and the Rhodopes as well. Great and relevantly wide path trough the wood makes it easy for the small kids and the elders. A must go for travellers, but keep the mountin tidy and clean!

Easy walk through the forest with a great observation deck at Nevyastata rock. There is a Alpine trolley from the top, but it wasnt working on Thursday afternoon. Great view!

The trail is very nice and not very difficult. We managed to take it even with small kids. The views are amazing.

Unique place! Wonderful views. Must see. The eco trail is about 900 meters and it’s not hard.

Good walking path with great and fantastic view on end of it!
Some places are requiring special attention and physical condition,there are steep and sharp places. But this place is worth it! incredible and breathtaking view from above the valley!

A nice, relatively easy and very rewarding trail with great vibe and beautiful vista at the end.
