Castle of Freÿr

It was the 1st May and it was free for visit. It was a very nice place and they organized some activities to take children's attention so my daughter also enjoyed it very much 😊 and at the end of the activity she got a little 🎁.

Very nice castle, not so impressive as others in Belgium, but well maintained and managed. The gardens are also very nice and the overall visit takes around 1 hour. There is a large parking lot inside the domain's walls.

We enjoyed walking trough the wel maintained castle full of paintings, only the amount of information papers was a bit too much.
The garden was bigger as thought.
there are 300 year old orange trees all the way in the back of the garden wich is amazing to see.

Small nice castle with a beautiful garden in the style of Le Nôtre. It is located in a beautiful and quiet environment. There weren't many visitors, so we could really enjoy the garden. You can find interesting information in the booklet they borrow you - e.g. which orange trees are more than 300 years old.
There is a free parking space a bit further the castle (you pass the castle when you come from Dinant).

Rich historical building with well furnished rooms. A grand piano that can be played by those who want. Nice garden

It’s very well preserved Castle. Full of history and great collections of items from the era represented. 1 or max 1,5 hours is good enough to enjoy the castle and its beautiful gardens!

Along the beautiful river Meuse and in front of the best climbing spot in Belgium. Gardens made by Lenôtre which also concieved the gardens of Versailles in Paris...

This castle is well worth a visit if you stay in Dinant. The history of the place is beautiful and you can also enjoy a stroll in the beautiful gardens.
