Eetcafé De Lantaern

I recently dined at De Lantaern in Baarle-Hertog, and it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the atmosphere was welcoming and warm, with a charming, rustic interior design that made us feel at home.

The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of excellent. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations based on our preferences.

De Lantaern's menu features a delightful array of dishes, blending traditional flavors with innovative twists. We started with a delicious appetizer of seared scallops that were cooked to perfection. For our main courses, we tried the pan-seared duck breast and the wild mushroom risotto. The duck was tender and flavorful, and the risotto was creamy and bursting with earthy flavors. Both dishes were beautifully presented and the portion sizes were just right.

To top it all off, we indulged in their decadent chocolate mousse for dessert. It was rich, velvety, and the perfect end to a fantastic meal.

The ribeye is a must-try here! It is cooked to a perfect medium, served with a delicious sauce! They also serve salad and fries with it and the fries were so crispy and tasty that we got an extra one! On Friday evening there was also live music, which was very cosy and nice. Highly recommended!

Had a chicken salad and the grilled chicken. Both were juicy and flavorful. Portion sizes were good and the prices were good as welll!

The ambience is down to earth and friendly. Staff was quick and attentive.

This place is amazing! ♡ I ordered the Australian steak and was simply one of the best meats I ever had in my life. And I'm Brazilian, so I'm used of eating nice meat. The sauce that came together was so light and delicious. And the potatoes.... I think they were the best I ever had. I dont know why were they so different? Maybe the oil that they were cooked? It was amazing! But the meat that impressed me the most. Super succulent and smooth, perfect grilled. The mayonnaise was amazing too. And the woman who served me and my friends was super nice and helped us to order since we dont speak dutch. The desert was amazing too, super delicious vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup! And the beer was super amazing too. Simply a golden place 10/10!

Ben er maar even geweest even iets drinken. Zag er erg gezellig uit en is best wel groot al zou je dat van de buitenkant niet zeggen. Vriendelijk en snelle service. Je kan ook lekker buiten zitten.
Pas geleden weer geweest en lekker gegeten.

2x heerlijk gegeten. Vanaf de straatkant ziet het er misschien niet zo uitnodigend uit, maar van binnen ziet het er wel gezellig uit..Ook hebben ze een heerlijke binnentuin.

Wat een zaak. Super ambiance!
