Incredible place that feels just like the 1959 'Journey to the center of the earth' movie.

Other reviews state concerns about it being too dark, i completely disagree. If anything i would prefer a bit few lights and of a more warm temperature. But is perfectly fine. You'll get awesome pictures as long as your phone/camera is good at low light photography. Mine were made with a Pixel 7.

Not a single bug down there or any other life, if you are concerned about that. Some steps can be slippery, just hold to the railings, all have them. A bit cold as you would expect from such a place, keep your jacket on.

If you are a bit lucky like i was, you can sit for a few minutes in the main chamber in complete silence with just the lovely sound of the water drops. Such a dreamy experience.

Staff speaks english and were super nice. I paid 4€ for a postcard tho... ouch! :P

Very nice place to spend about 45 minutes. It is quite chill in the cave, so bring a jacket with you. Also sport shoes are recommended. Now this is a self guided tour and this means you can have moments when only you in certain part of the cave

If your in dinant area it nice to go and visit only 100 mtr 15 mins walk , you can explore the caves no guided tour but it’s nice relaxing and have the time that you want , we did it in 35 mins but it was worth the only thing that there was nothing written just at least you can see or read what it’s all about ,

Sure thing! You'll pay €10 per person, and at the start, they'll give a crucial explanation about the place—it was a significant hiding spot during the 1930s war. Watch your step as the ground might be wet, and try to stick to the path.

Fun place to visit, the caves are really cool. We saw a couple of bats when we were in there so beware! A lot of climbing at the end so take water. Tour guide did a great job of explaining the caves to us before we went in. Definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful cave that was found in 1904. If you're lucky, you can spot a bat on the ceiling.
The main hall is really wonderful.
You can visit the cave on your own tempo because they give you the explanation in front of the visit, this way you can enjoy the main hall as long as you want.
You have to climb some stairs but they are in very good condition so it is possible for mostly everyone.
If you visit Dinant don't hesitate to visit the cave aswel. You can buy tickets in the shop and have a soda afterwards.

A real gem 💎 to find, the caves are amazing, a few stairs to do (sorry wheelchair bound people) and can be wet inside so correct footwear needed. Given COVID-19 restrictions no guide available, but the staff on site gave a nice description (in English) outside of what was to come. Even saw a small bat 🦇.

Would be so nice to tell people opening days/hours on the website or Facebook page, or be able to leave a message on the telephone number or to book tickets in advance.

Despite this I highly recommend a visit.

Good to visit when visiting Dinant. In March 2023 tourist were allowed to walk the path in the caves by themselves. Which was rather enjoyable.

This was such a wonderful and overwhelming experience for me! Probably because it was the first time that I visited a cave ever. The cave has 3 different levels with each level more impressive than the other. There are beautiful natural structures that are truly breathtaking inside the caves. The guide was very helpful as well. He had to translate everything he said to English for just the 2 of us but he did not shy away at all.

Very impressive cave! It costs 10€ and you visit it on your own. Lots of stairs, but nothing to climb or too complicated.

So, this was one of the largest caves I can remember visiting, and pretty impressive. The size of the stalagmites and stalactites wasn't too great and there weren't a lot of them to be honest. The walls and ceilings were the most impressive aspects.

There is a guy at the entrance who will give you a brief overview of the cave, without the use of a map but instead using a few small photos in his hand. Then you basically wander around however you please. There are two deviations from the main path that I saw. It is hard to say if these were meant to be explored but there was nothing stopping you besides darkness. There were even steps, both times.

You should probably were decent shoes for being in a wet cave though. I didn't have any issues but I can imagine slipping somewhere in the cave. Bring a pregnant wife and a three year old may not have been the best idea but it worked out fine, so maybe don't worry too much.

The cave is almost always at the temperature of 13 deg C . The cave is 850m of various galleries of which 650m can be explored. Its accessible only by guided tour and we were guided by this very funny guy, Mr.Werner. It was an interesting walk into the cave! The Great Hall till-date serves as a space for concerts and events and can hold upto around a hundred people!

Very nice tour! If visiting Dinant... I would definitely recommend this place. It's a really nice tour, the tour guide is hilarious! Speaks fluent French, Dutch, German, English, Spanish and Italian - and very easily transitions from one language to the other! Very intelligent! Thanks for the tour and great laughs! Enjoy the summer!

I found this place really last minute and was intrigued by the opportunity to actually enter this natural wonder. Prices aren't too bad, but you can get in for cheaper using Groupon. The tour was interesting but our tour guide only spoke french, so we followed along in a provided packet that had all the same inormation that our guide was giving us.

Really magical place to explore. Ticket cost 10 euro for adult, but it’s totally worth it! 😎

Bigger than expected, slow sightseeing might take even around an hour and a half, additional source of light is useful, nice to go around midday when there is not a lot of people. You visit on your own, the guide just describes what you will see at the entrance. Booking tickets in advance was not possible (no reply to calls or email).

A beautiful experience, the tour guide has a very nice sense of humour and makes the tour enchanting, it is a little cold in the cave but remains the same temp all year round, so just don’t go in with just a t shirt, will definitely recommend a visit here when you go to Dinant, thanks to the tour guide

Nice place to visit while you are nearby. One hour tour, guided by really funny guy, who will tell you many details about the cave as well as make you laugh several times. Definetely worth to pay a visit.
