De Middenstand

We were in the area and we were hungry and decided to take a look at the menu. Their menu consisted of local cuisine. However, there were out of mussels and frites. We started with a French Onion Soup which was rich and tasty. My wife ordered the Flemish Beef Stew and I had the Eels Belgian Style with mushrooms and bacon. Both were very tasty. I hadn't had eel and I was unaware of the boney spine but that really wasn't a problem. We finished dinner with a Belgian coffee and a dessert consisting of ice cream and fruit. They have a very nice selection of wines, beers and champagne at a very reasonable price. The service was top notch. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

Came through for the Mussels Soup but sadly it was out of season. Got to try Bouillabaisse and it was great. Oh the portion was enough for 2-3 people. The servers were nice and helpful as well.

It is amazing steak! We ordered Flemish beef stew and flet mignon (medium) with pepper sauce with a local beer and a glass of vine. It was one of the best steaks for a long time. The workers were so kind. The timing was quite fast. Price is not cheap but okay for the standards of the town.

Nice and cozy, food was very good, service was friendly, fast for how busy it gets, totally worth it.

I have had the absolute pleasure of eating here in the past and todays meal was up to the usual high standard. Great restaurant with delicious food rammed full of locals. ❤❤❤

I cannot wait to return and hope it isn’t another five years before I can enjoy the wonderful food again.

Good food, good local beer, friendly staff, nice spot for chilling out and people watching. We had the local beef stew which was great. And the mussels.

Over the past 10 years De Middenstand has become one of our favourite restaurants when visiting Bruges. The food is always delicious and its proprietor Rosa is always welcoming to all her customers.

Excellent food, we had the three courses menu of the month. The house wine is quite okay but not outstanding. Service is very good and friendly. Don't arrive late as the kitchen may close earlier than you might expect.

I'm impressed with this place. Best in this city. we only stayed for coffe and dessert but we regretted having dinner elsewhere. I will definitely come back to Brugge special for dinner in De Middenstand.

Excellent food, we went for the menu of the month. The house wine was quite good as well. Service was efficient and very friendly. Although we managed to get a table, it might be wise to make a reservation.

love love love ! i went here with my family when we were traveling this place is delicious as well as visually appealing! we made reservations at 7 and it was perfect . if your ever in the area coming here would be a great time!
