Chatmohar Shahi Mosque is located at Chatmohar Shahi Mosque, Pabna. Besides this landmark, there are seven more landmarks listed in Pabna. The mosque is really something to see due to its artistic design. It is noteworthy for the exquisite terracotta ornamentations both inside and outside. The decorations consist of vegetal and floral motifs that still survive. It has three domes. The mosque is enclosed by a low outer wall, built in red ‘jafri’ bricks, which are thick bricks. The wide outer walls of the mosque show its historical importance. Arabic writings engraved on the outer side of the wall are being damaged by the elements. There is a concrete well in front of the mosque.

In Bangladesh, this is an ancient mosque. Chatmohar, in Pabna district, is one of nine Thanas. The Chatmohar town (24n13,89e18) is situated on the south bank of the once navigable Baral River. Ishurdi is about 25 km NE and is an important railway station between Ishurdi-Dhaka railroads. Getting the past back from the pre-Muslim period, a very old commercial venue. The mosque is an archeological site in Bengal; at one point the mosque was reduced to rubble. It absolutely was completed by the Bangladesh Department of Archeology within the 1980s. Currently, it’s a preserved building. The mosque had a Persian inscription engraved during a Tughra script. Nowadays the inscription is preserved within the Rajshahi Barind Research Museum. A Persian inscription in beautiful Tughra, now preserved within the Rajshahi varendra research museum, records its construction in 1582 AD by Khan Muhammad bin Tuwi Khan Qaqshal. Enclosed by an occasional outer wall the mosque occupies the western half a rather raised platform. Built entirely of brick, it’s oblong in plan, measuring 18.14m by 8.23m on the surface. The walls are 1.98m thick. The building’s four external angles are supported by octagonal towers, which rise to the level of the roof.

Chatmohar Shahi Mosque

The Masum Khan Mosque at Chatmohar was built in 1581 AD by his brother Khan Mohammad Kakshal, funded by Abul Fateh Mohammad Masum Khan, one of Emperor Akbar's generals, today's Chatmohar Shahi Mosque, also known as Shahi Mosque of Masum Khan Kabul. In the 1980s, the Bangladesh Directorate of Archeology constructed it completely.

The area of the mosque is 45 feet in length, 22 feet 6 inches width and 45 feet in height. It has three domes on the top and three arched gates on the front and two more arched gates on the west side.

Chatmohar Shahi Masjid is an ancient mosque of the country. It is said that the building was built during Mughal Period. The main building is being used as main prayer hall. you can stop by and have a visit. The place is peaceful. If you are a Muslim you are encouraged to have your "Salat" here at least once.

The Chatmohar Shahi Mosque located in Chatmohar Upazila, Pabna... This mosque was once a ruin, but it was rebuilt by the Bangladesh Department of Archeology in the 1880s... Chatmohar Shahi Mosque was built in 1561 by Masum Khan Kabli who was one of the generals of Emperor Akbar... Many historical books refer to the mosque as Masum Khan Kabli Mosque... Allah knows truth...

Chatmohar Mosque is an example of Sultanate mosque architecture. It is located at Kazipara Mahalla under Chatmohar municipality in Pabna district. There was a black stone inscription carved on this mosque. However, that is now kept at Varendra Research Museum in Rajshahi. The inscription says the mosque was built during the reign of Sultan Abdul Fath Muhammed Masum Khan, chief of the Saiyyiads, in 1581 AD.   According to historical records, one Masum Khan Kabuli was the fauzdar (commander) of a local pargana (administrative unit) during the Sultanate era. After the Mughal occupation of Bengal, he revolted against Emperor Akbar and established an independent state in Pabna. The capital of that state was Chatmohar. During his rule, he built a number of establishments, such as a palace, fort, military outpost and mosques, in the city that got mostly damaged over the course of time. Chatmohar Shahi Mosque is one such building. A fort was also built next to the mosque, but it exists no more. He also excavated a large water reservoir in his capital and built his own palace to the north of it. The mosque was restored and extensively repaired in the 1980s by the Department of Archaeology (DOA) and is now a protected monument. Nevertheless, the outer designs of the mosque are deteriorating day by day due to lack of maintenance. Chatmohar Shahi Mosque is an important heritage site of north Bengal. It conveys the 15th century’s glorious cultural heritage. Visitors from different parts of the country often visit the mosque.
