Mayapur is the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, incarnate of Sri Krishna. It is said his brother Nityananda incarnate of Balaram appeared at the same time. Mayapur was established by Bhaktivinoda Thakur, who ascertained the actual birthplace of Mahaprabhu and went on to build a temple there. It is now known as Yogpeeth.

The worldwide headquarters of ISKCON are based in Mayapur. The township is aesthetically laid out with temples, guest houses and gardens.

It's quite nice place to stay in Nawadip. It's a Ashram so it is totally vegetarian place. For family it is completely safe. Main gate closed at 9pm. If you want ti stay here please get a recommendation card from your nearest Bharat Sevashram Sangha branch. You also can get veg Anno Prashad Seva(Lunch and dinner) here, please contact ashram office.

Really good,peaceful place. The "maharaj" s are really powerful about spiritualism.They sacrificed everything and entered here.You can go here for learning something.

This is connected with rail and bus services from Howrah and Sealdah Rly Station and also accessible from Krishnagar and Mayapur. You get satisfaction from this institution as they are every where to exfend kind helping hand for the distressed people affected by natural calamity. One Primary School is run by them.
