Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) started its journey since 19 April 1998 being inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister of People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. It is one of the leading public engineering research universities run by Bangladesh Armed Forces, located in Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh established MIST for providing BSc Engg, MSc Engg/M.Engg,M.Phil & PhD degrees in engineering. MIST is well equipped with country’s most advanced laboratories and research facilities. All departments have achieved accreditation from Board of Accreditation for Engineering & Technical Education (BAETE), IEB for high quality engineering education with excellence.

Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) is a public engineering institute in Bangladesh located at Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka, Bangladesh. MIST is under the Ministry of Defence (Bangladesh) which is run by Military of Bangladesh and is affiliated with Bangladesh University of Professionals. Though a military institution, both military and civil students study in MIST. There are 12 departments, running with highly qualified teacher. Students of this institute are participating in different international conference, scientific challenges, program and so on.

MIST is a good school for engineering. It offers a wide range of learning in different arenas to choose. MIST is developing its own research and publication. It has a clean and beautiful campus.

As far as I am concerned after BUET, it is the most reliable institute of Bangladesh for studying engineering. The academic institute have adequate lab and research facilities like BUET. Here both teachers and students are highly controlled in terms of discipline, puntuality, time schedule and academic curriculum. Actually it is a set institution and like a machine, if you insert the raw students, they will either be graduated properly otherwise will be withdrawn. No mercy is shown in academic activities and discipline. Most important aspect in context of Bangladesh is that students enjoy securities unlike other institutions as no politics is allowed here. There is no ragging of the students ad well.
