The largest and most notable college, especially for intermediate level i. e. HSC, in Gopalganj district. It has been doing well in terms of results in the higher secondary level, especially based on the students in Science group. About 20,000 students go here to various levels such as BA (Honors), BA( Degree/Pass), and HSC. There are 100 or beyond teachers, all of whom are Cadres in BCS (General education).
But in spite of achieving this reputation in recent years, extreme political activism is undoubtedly its major concern, as a number of students get engaged in student politics.

Govt Bangabandhu College is established in 1950 as a intermediate college. After establishing, this college only offered humanities for students. But now this college also offers honors for students. It is a ancient school in the Gopalganj town. A beautiful campus in the Gopalganj town. Though it's area isn't enough but it has a big playground. The father of the nation of Bangladesh had studied in this college. I'm also feeling proud to be a student of the college. Majority of the students in the Gopalganj town are a student of the college. It has a beautiful auditorium and also a library.
