Kapija Lukomir

Fantastic dinner at Kapija Lukomir. I cannot recommend enough. A very nice old lady made and served the food, and chatted with us for a bit too. Definitely a must when visiting Lukomir.

Such an amazing spot for a stop! We had 3 delicious sugar soaked cakes with three mountain teas with honey for 12bm. Was so nice enjoying the sun, views and the amazing host chopping wood in the background

Raha is an adorable, open minded, cheerful and helpful Host. We were camping for three nights in her lovely garden which offers a beautiful view at Lukomir. Her cooking skills are fantastic. We would definetly recommend to anybody and if we come back to Lukomir we will stay at her place again - for sure.

Such a lovely hostess, we shared a traditional Bonsian coffee and chatted about life in Lukomir. Excellent food. Highly recommend. We look forward to spending the night in her cozy and welcoming guest house.

Raha's place is very good! I really enjoyed my time here. She's is very lovely and a great host. And homemade food is also very delicious :) price is definitely reasonable. I paid 25eur per night for tent spot in the garden, dinner, breakfast with beer and Chai during the day.

Dear fellow travelers,

This is both a 'love' letter to the hosts as well as information to future visitors that this place and these people i.e. Raha and Zejnil, cannot be missed on your already fantastic drive through the amazing Bosnia and Hercegovina. We are underlining this based on multiple factors, which might seem clear enough as Lukomir is absolutely stunning, however the real treasure here are these two human beings who we were so fortunate to meet and interact with. We will treasure this moment forever. We wish that we could have stayed the night, but we, unfortunately, underminded Lukomir, and we do not want you to do the same.

Bosnia and Hercegovina is a beautiful country, but Lukomir is in another league based on the geographical setting and overall location i.e. a hidden gem where the experience is so incredibly overwhelming, touching, and healing at the same time. We cannot tell you how our day looked before we eventually i.e. finally arrived in Lukomir, as everything within this day i.e. the stress etc. vanished upon our arrival.

This country and its people were, from the very beginning of our stay - we were in Bosnia and Hercegovina for 9 whole days, very helpful, polite, and welcoming, but Raha and Zejnil especially stod out to us during our entire stay.

Why is that - With Raha and Zejnil, even with a language barrier, through laughter, warmth, natural-born hospitality and just genuinely good nature, we were taken in as if we were family. They even outshined Lukomir's beauty with their very own beautiful way of being. Whatever wall there might have been as it is with strangers in general, was immediately taken down as Raha was dubbed THE BOSS. She absolutely loved this nickname. There was a group hiking there and they translated it, so Raha was thrilled. Zejnil, her husband, is more quiet and more of a background persona, but you can feel his gentle and helpful nature just by observing him.

Thank God for such good people. Such positive experiences make you restore your faith in people, especially if you have had your fair and share of disappointment etc.

Kapija Lukomir is a magical place where communication is challenged but found in the most unexpected ways.

Thank you Raha and Zejnil for making Lukomir exceed our expectations, and for opening your arms to the two of us. You will never really know how much it affected us meeting you at exactly that point in time.

We stayed at Raha and Zejnil’s house for one day and we are sorry we couldn’t stay for longer. The experience was phenomenal. Raha was a perfect Bosnian host - as soon as we came, she made us feel at home with her warm smile and excellent traditional Bosnian cuisine. She told us many interesting stories from her life in this country and we had the opportunity to learn about Bosnian tradition - she even allowed me to try on the traditional Bosnian attire! The place is decorated in a traditional style and filled with her beautiful embroidery - if I had a Bosnian grandma, that is how I would imagine her house to be. :) Very cozy.
And the views of the surrounding nature are magnificent, there are many trails one can walk and many natural wonders to see.

Wonderful place to eat and relax. Traditional Bosnian food is delicious and very inexpensive. You have to try Bosnian pita and ustipci. Reha and Zejnil will welcome you at their place and even though they speak only Bosnian ,you do not need a translation. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place, realy nice host and delicious food. We were there with a camper and it was a realy great expirience. Got woken up by sheeps and the the nice lady Raha made us breakfast. 12/10

Such a beautiful and authentic place to stay. Also the hosts are super lovely and super welcoming. You just feel like you are home and the food was so delicious. I really can recommend this place :)

This lady makes glutenfree burek!!!

This is probably the most sincere 5 star rating I've given to date. We were having drinks at the neighbours when we saw the sign saying glutenfree burek. This lovely lady cannot eat gluten herself, so she mastered the skill of making the local dishes glutenfree. I myself have never been able to get glutenfree dough this thin, there is truly some kind of magic involved.

Besides the great food, she is a very kind hostess, I very strongly recommend a visit!

We were just passing by Lukomir and we stopped at Rahe's house, we recommend burek - great simple lunch :) We really enjoyed the short stay at this hospitable house.

Best food in town!!! And the service is the best. This lady deserves a visit!

Amazing glutenfree food and service!

Pensjonat znajduje się od razu na wjeździe do lukomiru. Pierwszy dom na lewo. Brak słów, aby opisać doświadczenia związane z naszym krótkim pobytem w Lukomirze. Otrzymaliśmy przepyszne, domowe i lokalne jedzenie w bardzo niskiej cenie. Gospodyni bardzo chętnie opowiada na temat swojego życia i wioski. Pozwolono nam bezpłatnie zostawić auto na parkingu. Polecam!!

Pierwszy dom po lewej stronie w wiosce Lukomir!!! To miejsce jest wyjątkowe nie tylko ze względu na swoją lokalizację, a przede wszystkim dzięki przecudownym gospodarzom. Pierwszy raz byłem gościem Rahy i Zejnila rok temu, w 2022. Wizyta ta zapadła mi w pamięć do tego stopnia, że rok później podróżując na Bałkanach, postanowiłem nadłożyć 150km, aby odwiedzić ich ponownie. Przepyszne jedzenie przygotowywane na świeżo, ogrom serca i miłości. Wewnątrz tradycyjny wystrój. Pomimo dużej bariery językowej, szczery uśmiech nadrabia wszystko. Pierwszy dom po lewej stronie w wiosce Lukomir!!!
