It has all the on the go products you need, is very spacious and staff are just wonderful.

Very well stocked Woolworths that just opened yesterday. Great selection (full Woolworths, not one of your express stores), and also has a BWS at the back with liquor and alcohol!

As I take it metros are tailored to business patrons looking for lunch or food to take home after work with an abundance of on-the-go food and drink options. There are a couple of common downfalls that accompany this model, the most obvious is presumably due to their often scaled down size. They don't have room (or desire/effort/consumer respect?) to offer a varied or even just acceptable selection of general supermarket products.

I find the most disappointing downfall, though thankfully I've only found this to be the case with Woolworths' biggest competitor's metro/cbd/express version at the "enviable" Flinders/Elizabeth st location*. It bothers me a lot that they seem to think that they can abandon the across the board specials these main supermarkets run uniformaly and consistently at their Melbourne stores (cycling from Wednesday morning til Tuesday night). That somehow these specials, often referred to as "guarantees", don't apply when you're given (by the the same people who were named and shamed into dropping the recipe section of their website because of their shamefully embarrassing $10 recipes ideas yikes) the privilege and luxury of settling on a neglected range of subpar products at premium prices in a pigeon infested intersection that is supposedly a chosen hub of travel and tourism in this city.

I digress but only to give a stark compassion to emphasize what a truly wonderful place Woolworths metro at 327 Collins st is and has to offer. It is new, clean and a bit chic but comfortable and inviting for all. There is a more than generous amount of self service checkouts. However, I'm glad I didn't make use of those much appreciated facilities this time as I found the staff are customer service par excellence. I had broken into a cold sweat and was looking like a troubled youth in a hoodie (surely undetectable that it was actually by Junya Watanabe) but the woman who served me was incredibly nice and respectful. She treated me like I was a fully functioning adult person capable of voting and paying for groceries with my own money, I don't take this feeling for granted. The metro is deceptively deep and full of everything from a larger scale supermarket you could need and more! Even high quality fresh produce! (Okay, maybe not everything but definitely a lot more than any other supermarket of its' model and scale that I know of) Best of all they have the same fantastic deals we know and love and have come to deservedly/rightfully expect from these multimillion dollar chains. I can't remember the last time I walked out of a supermarket with six bags of groceries that only cost me $21. The complex itself (Collin sq, I beleive) is a suitably lovely home, newly renovated with a delicious looking food court, Vic passport office and comm bank HQ for good measure.

My sincerest thanks to Woolworths, for blessing Docklands with at least two of the most fantastic supermarkets in Melbourne that I know of. My only wish is that demand will eventually supply some slightly more desirable opening hours, as metro currently closes at 9pm and is completely closed on the weekend.

Very well stocked - almost as good as a full scale Woolies! They have great soup and breakfast options too.

Love this brand new spotless Wollies which openned in March and is a few minutes from my apartment. Staff are friendly and helpful.
