Hill End General Store and Cafe

Quaint little general store in a beautiful town. Quick stop here for some refreshments and grabbed a delicious Granola Cookie which was home made and delicious. Staff helpful with local knowledge to assist us in some other plans we had for the day

Best steak sandwich I have eaten in a very long time. Friendly service, great choice on menu and certainly a highlight of our visit to Hill End.

Stopped for a late lunch and was happy to find them still open and serving hot food at 2:30pm. Awesome service and very friendly staff. The veggie burger was beautiful, the chips were some of the best I’ve eaten and the coffee was GREAT! Really awesome experience for a raining Saturday arvo

Friendly staff and good service at this small general store. Good coffee and plenty of meal options. The pies are hand made in Hill End.

Wonderful spot for lunch! Everything we ordered was tasty, with special gongs for the home-made chicken & veggie soup and quiche with fresh salad and tasty dressing. Fish River Roasters coffee was well-made and home-made “mum’s scones” were delish. Warmly recommended.

Matt's Irish stew pie was mouth watering. Girls loved the beef pie. They close at 3pm but are open every day of the week.

Really gorgeous cafe and general store. Has most things if you are camping which is great because there isn't much else for a drive. Bacon egg rolls for breakfast are amazing and coffee is good as well.

I cannot believe it is the same place as experienced by a couple of previous reviewers. Even on Easter Saturday with queues out the door the staff were polite, efficient and friendly. They enquired about how we liked the food (which was great.. brilliant steak sandwich!) and even took the time to ask us where we were from. Great place and absolutely will be back.

Jeanie and the girls made us feel very welcome. They were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to cater for us (2 pescatarians, 1 carnivore). The cafe was really quirky and was also a grocery store come petrol station. The food was more healthy and delicious. Everyone there contributed to making our visit to Hill End one to remember for a long time to come. We will definitely be back! Louise, Craig and Ned

Absolutely loved our dinner there last night. Quick service, very friendly (and refreshing sense of humour) teamed with extremely delicious fresh food. And cant forget about the great coffee & hot chocolates too! ❤❤❤ Keep up the great work!!!

Plenty of seating indoors and out, even for larger groups. Cosy fireplace and heaters running on a cold winters day.

Have been visiting Hill End for 30 years and can honestly say that in all that time, I have never seen the Hill End Store in such good hands as it is now. Dave, the owner, is a perfectionist when it comes to coffee and fine foods. Dave actively promotes and sells locally grown Coffee (Fish River) and locally made Pastries, (Hill End) including some of the best Pies and Sausage Rolls that I have ever tasted anywhere in Australia. As a full time Prospector, every year, I travel all over Australia, but ALWAYS find time to drop in to the Hill End Store. I highly recommend it.

This place serves what must be the best Bacon and eggs roll. If you are in the area, do stop by and have a hearty breakfast or lunch, the coffee is not bad either. What a treasure.

Great range of house made pies, a nice suprise in what I thought would be overly rustic. Cool staff, and they stock some awesome locally made ice cream too. Great spot for a weekend visit.

Just had the best lunch experience in a long time. Friendly, helpful, yummiest food. Even came out & gave our dogs a treat at the table.

Went here today after waiting 2.5hrs at the pub ( still had no food by that time ! ) fantastic service. Food ready within 10 minutes & was tasty & fresh! Will deff return!
