Vinnies Summer Hill

Im a local and have been loving coming here for years- yes, as previous reviewers say, some items are more expensive than you may expect from a charity store- but there are a wide range of options in the shop- some items are very cheap and others are more expensive- if you don't wish to buy the more expensive ones- then just don't buy them- easy, there are plenty of good quality cheaper priced ones. I think a lot of people forget that the shop's purpose extends beyond just clothes/items for customers to buy- Its there more broadly to generate revenue which helps fund Vinnie's work within communities- so you buying something there is helping survivors of all types of abuse, rough sleepers who are completely homeless; providing food trucks every day multiple times a day to feed the homeless (i.e. people who have no money for internet and/or a computer to write reviews complaining about clothes prices at a charity non for profit shop....) etc. Many of the workers at the shop are also doing it hard or are just volunteers giving their time for free and just trying to just help the organisation *as a whole*- not specifically that one shop. So show some community spirit and support them for doing a great job. I for one will be back as a customer to support the organisation as a whole and support the workers there who I'm sure work very hard (but who yes, are humans, not robots- and you may catch on days where they are grumpier, or happier).

I had a lovely experience visiting the Vinnies Summer Hill store! From the moment I walked through the front door, I was greeted by the lovely staff members on the floor and front counter. Visiting Sydney from Brisbane, and having shopped at many op shops before, I found this store to be the most neat and tidy, and most organised and proudly presented store I have visited and seen so far in my travels. I found the clothing and items available for sale to be of extremely high quality, good condition, & mostly all major top brand labels - all reasonably priced & reflecting this quality as a result. There were also some very exciting rare & retro items available which always make for exciting finds! I can’t wait to visit the store and staff again!

Had an awesome experience shopping here, found some great stuff I hadn't seen anywhere else. Originally went in to check out their shoes, but ended up with a bagful of various thing's. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, especially the young lady at the front counter. Will definitely be back.

Summer Hill Vinnies is the best Vinnies I have ever been in. If you're after quality and the best labels pay them a visit. A small shop but filled with treasures and friendly and helpful staff and volunteers.

Excellent selection of books with a strong rate of turnover. I found something that had never been read before but was brand new (as in released the month before), still had it's Kinokuniya price tag. People of Summer Hill keep donating and I'll keep reading.

Summer Hill Vinnies never disappoints in my humble opinion. Today I left with a sealed LP by an artist I adore and 18 CDs full of people I admire also have to be mentioned that their window display featured a beautiful one of kind 70s piece of Summery Swing
