Refused service at 9am this morning.
I am a woman in my 50’s and tried to buy a 4pack of Rekorderlig ciders and a 4pack of Cuervo margaritas for a house party we are having today. I was refused service because my 18 year old daughter, who was with me, did not have id. This, despite the fact I assured the young girl behind the counter that I was not buying the drinks for my daughter so her id is not required (this verbal assurance would have been sufficient for the actual police).
I have never been refused service of alcohol in Australia, or anywhere else in the world, in my life. This is an extraordinary and depressing erosion of our rights.
And, there is a fundamental problem in the lawmakers making citizens police other citizens, particularly when the law enforcers, who are barely 18, and not trained police, are being asked to make subjective judgment calls on law application.
Don’t waste your time here - just go to Dan Murphy’s.

Poor customer service from the store manager, unhelpful and rude

I went there to pickup an online order after receiving a SMS earlier in the day to say it was ready for pickup. On arriving "Stephanie", said it was still out the back in the "cage" and that I would have to wait 10 minutes until someone brought it in. After waiting for 15 minutes in store, I approached her again and asked her cordially when it would be ready. She then told me that she couldn't promise a time and not to be rude to her. I advised her she was the one being rude and I had a right to be disappointed in the delay. She then told me she was going to cancel the order and to leave the store.

This young girl has such an abrasive manner and poor attitude that she really shouldn't be in customer service.

I personally didn't experience this but the people checking out next to me did. The rude cashier would not allow an old lady too purchase anything because her grandson was there. He then proceeded to make a big scene. Just go to Dan Murphy's - you'll get cheaper grog there too.
