Ubirr is well worth a visit to when around Kakadu. Aboriginal drawings can be seen on the short and easy walk. There are signs along the path that detail what has been drawn.

If you're able to walk up the rocks, it is well worth getting to the top and seeing the view. You get 360 degree views all around, very green on one side and a lot of rocky hills around also.

I think the walk to the top probably looks harder than it is, there aren't many big steps to do, the path is quite good.

Incredible range of indigenous rock art paintings in a fairly small area. Most of the art is easily accessible, some require demanding climbing which is rewarded by a beautiful view. In my opinion this is something worthwhile to visit.

Amazing experience! Beautiful rock art everywhere, even unsigned you can find paintings. We experienced a sunset up on the rock formation and it was lovely. The walk isn’t very difficult but there are rocks to climb up and down so keep that in mind. You definitely don’t want to miss this stop on your Kakadu trip! 🤩

An unexpected highlight, the NT website doesn’t do it justice. The art was beautifully preserved and so vibrant, and the information at each site was interesting and helpful. The area itself was incredible, and the lookout was one of our favourite parts of our trip. Definitely plan to go for sunset, but be careful on the drive back to your lodgings as we nearly ran into a herd of water buffalo coming around the corner at dusk.

Words can’t explain what you see here.
A must visit when in Kakadu.
Easy and safe walk for most people, 1 km loop, however the climb up to the lookout can be harder for some .
Not steep but lots of rock steps to navigate
Walk on your own and read all the information on the signs or walk with a group and a guide explaining all.
Plenty of parking for all vehicle types.

Amazing must do: quite a simple but lovely walk. Take an hour or maybe 2 if you can. The climb up to the plateau is far out. Nice rock bouldering here and there, but nothing too difficult. Bring water. Great parking close by.

Stunning place. Saw my first ancient rock paintings there and copped a stunning sunset.

But, what o really wanna talk about is our tour guide Oz, or Ozzie Mozzie. Oz certainly marches to the beat of his own drum and often on his 2hr tour you’ll find your self asking “ am I on a tour of an ancient rock site or am I at a stand-up comedy show???”

If you come to the same conclusion as me you answer will be both. And that’s a a good thing!

Oz, hats off to you mate! it was a delightfully refreshing experience, thanks heaps cobber

This walk was amazing! The rock art was so mesmerizing and I learnt so much from reading the signs. The view of Kakadu from the top of the rocks was also stunning - don’t miss this if you’re visiting Kakadu!

This is the first rock art site we visited in Kakadu and boy was it fabulous. It is an easy flat walk that is well marked so you will see all the sites with such great information on the paintings. When you go to the lookout it becomes a steep climb with stairs and some rock climbing, but it’s short and sweet. Make sure you get up-to the lookout with some dinner to watch the sunset and do all the rock art sites below first, the views here are remarkable!

A must of going to kakadu. This is only place we saw as most of park was still closed. We were meant to stay 2 nights at merl camping but the mozzies were to bad. Make sure you climb to top of rock for the amazing view. It looks harder than it is. Even with bad back and knees it was easy

Totally worth the short walk to see the rock art and definitely recommend going up to the look out to see the different landscapes of Kakadu.

Incredible place, truly magnificent and not to be missed. Again my favourite phrase a hidden gem. Beautiful otherworldly place.

I must say without the slightest exaggeration that this is one of the top 10 natural wonders of the world. It might not get the publicity it deserves, might not very easy to visit (although once you're in Ubirr it's a pleasant, easy walk from the car park), but it might be "the" place that'd reach the #1 spot on your brag list (once visited, of course). Simply amazing art. Photos, videos would not do justice. (Still post a few.) Don't miss it.

Very hot and humid but worth going to the top of the lookout. Stunning art from different timeframes. Need 90 min plus here. It's 44km from Jabiru.

The 20,000 year old rock paintings are well maintained and display a great deal of indigenous art progression. The walking path is relatively easy. The climb up to the viewing platforms is a little more arduous, but worth the trouble. The view at the top is breath taking. Taking tour time and discover all the drawing representations.
Carpark is can accommodate a few cars best to avoid peak hours. Toilets available and clean. Respect the site and take your garbage with you.

A must see when in Kakadu. Beautiful indigenous artworks and an easy walk. Can get a little tricky getting to the lookout but worth the climb. Went back that night to watch the sunset, a must see.

I can't believe this costs nothing to visit! You would be silly to miss it.
Meander around the easy walking trail to see 2,000+ year old artwork including a painting of a Tasmnain Tiger!!
The walk is very easy, despite the heat (still bring plenty of water). The only slightly challenging part is heading to the lookout where you need to climb over rocks. We did the Ubirr lookout walk in an hour even with a lot of stopping to marvel at the artwork.

So amazing to see these ancient drawings from our custodians of this beautiful country. The walk is flat mostly a few rocks to climb but not strenuous. Lovely walk in the cool of the morning
