We didn’t come at the best time, but it’s still a rewarding experience! A place where fishermen and crocodiles are fishing together! I guess the end of dry season is probably the best time of year? When so many crocodiles with so little water around? High tide is still important, saw 3 crocodiles waiting right before the sunset! The viewing platform is a great place to sit and enjoy the view!

This is an interesting place to appreciate the scenery of the territory. It is the pathway to two remote communities which you will require a pass to visit. This is also a good place to see crocodiles in the wild. It is suggested you stick to the viewing platform to see them for obvious reasons

Place to come a see crocodiles. Check the tide times and come just after low tide in the dry season. You shouldn’t be disappointed. I have been here twice in the wet season and never seen a croc. Seem to be always someone fishing, birds, cars crossing definitely worth a look.

Absolutely a must see place if you want to see wild crocodiles for free. So many crocs in the river, you don’t even have to wait for them to surface. On the other side of the river near the boat ramp you can watch the mudskippers too. Definitely recommend it.

What can I say we drove from Darwin and of course we checked Cahills tides on Google first. High tide started at 2pm and high at 4pm.
We got there 245pm as I didn't want to drive to darwin back in the dark.
Saw quite a few salties about 3 meters each and some babies.
Tide was just starting to go over the crossing so not quite the best time but good enough for us.
High tide of course will get the Barra going over crossing where the Crocs will wait patiently for them to flip on the rocks and into thier huge mouths!!!
Well worth the trek.
Stay on the platform and don't be a fool
Enjoy.
Ps check the tide first before you go

Visited in September and there wasn't alot of water over the road. Went about 2pm in the afternoon and saw plenty of crocs swimming and laying on the banks. Went back on high tide and saw only one croc. Plenty of people fishing off the rocks but didn't see anyone hook anything. The viewing platform is great. Plenty of parking for cars and vans if you're towing.

One of my favourite places to sit and watch tide changes, fish activity and some of the biggest crocs Ive ever seen in a natural setting.

I didn't know what to expect coming here, but WOW is an understatement. It's best to come just before high tide and watch as the fish come over the road where the crocs are waiting for a feed. Wow!

This is a totally awesome place we sat here in the shade of the trees for quite some time watching the fishing people and watching trucks and cars go through the fairly deep water of the crossing then we cam back a day later and it was totally different again well worth the trip out there and sit & watch

Oh my word the crocodiles here are huge! Great new lookout for us to be able to see the river even if crossing isn't possible! Great spot!

We went on the East Alligator River cruise. Our tour was fantastic discovering the uses the indigenous people used for the local trees and plants found along the river. Our guide allowed us to set foot on Arnhem land. Highly recommend!

Worth stopping here to watch the crocs catch fish during the high tide when the current changes direction. We spotted dozens of salties when we visited in October last year. There were a handful of fisherman standing at the waters edge, crazy to watch!

Great place to see crocs. If you wanna cross the river, need to get the pass and please check the tide time. Don’t go too close to water

This experience is a must!!! We have never seen anything like this before and seeing how those smart crocs line up for their feed is excellent. You can stay above on the proper lookout but others were on the road near the feeding area, obviously this isn’t safe but it’s such a thrill when you are there also, this is all at your own risk. Make sure you check tide times and be safe!

Was a good high tide and about 15 crocs ignoring people on the edge of the crossing, just concentrating on their feed of Barra coming over.

We visited Kakadu and our friends who live here brought us here to see the famous crossing. I blew me away that people were fishing with crocodiles swimming in the same waters. It was crazy and that’s why I watch from far away. Be careful if you go here and take head of the signs.

Had always heard about this place and seen videos of it. To actually be there when the tide turns and see the water flow back the other way across the crossing and see lots of crocodiles appear from all directions to congregate there and wait for fish is amazing.

What a fantastic view of the Crocs at feeding time. Go there at high tide for the best chance to see a big one. There was a monster when we went, head was just huge... Mad watching the drivers cross at such a tide. We'll be back!
