When you walked out from bush from the South Cape Bay track, the roaring tide and endless sea will reassure you that your trip is worth it. Be mindful it might take up to 6-7 hours if you require rest or play on the beach, also certain part of track requires maintenance, I walked this track on a sunny day, but personal do not recommend to go on a rainy day as certain part of track have chances becoming slippery.

South Cape Bay is a great walk, I tried to jog it because I started at 1530. I ended up back at at Cockle Creek before sunset but I was pretty wrecked.

Its a long walk to get there but well worth it. Couldn't see that ot looked like a lion but was a great walk. Firt two ks of rocky uneven ground is the hardest.

Views are stunning. Prepare atleast 4hours return. Carry plenty of water. And take your rubbish with you.

What a rock! Much better than Donkey Rock in Uzbekistan or even dare I say it Capybara Rock in Senegal however looks more like a Walrus than a Lion. Worth the swim from Hobart. Good place for a jail should the need arise.

Enjoy the trek in your way here. This place is awesome and you should stop here for some minutes before heading back to camp or continuing your long trek.

It is certainly quite an effort to get here (being around 2hrs from Hobart) but certainly it is worth a visit. On the way, I would recommend you to check out Hastings caves, Cockle Creek and Whale Point as well. The views are spectacular, the ocean breeze is refreshing and you feel like you are standing on the edge of the world (ps I’m not a flat earther). Make a day trip and enjoy the spectacular natural beauty.
