Barrington River Lodge

This is a wonderful place for a big family get together.
The rooms, with various bedding configurations & shared bathrooms, are very clean & well furnished. Cabins are lovely.
The property is 5 acres with river frontage and has a variety of amenities in the grounds including a great play area for kids. A beautiful outlook from the verandah.
Fantastic cooking facilities and different areas for eating, socialising & relaxing. Location is excellent with proximity to Gloucester & lots of different walks & activities.
Owners are very welcoming, friendly & helpful and answer any queries very promptly.
Enjoyed the whole experience greatly.

We had the best Easter break with all our church community! Especially enjoyed the sweeping views over the grounds down to the river. All facilities were beautifully cleaned and presented! The Family and Retreat cabins catered well for families and older people alike, they all had access to BBQs and lovely verandahs and decks. The two kitchens – one outdoor and one indoor were well-stocked with equipment and had plenty of fridge and freezer space.
Camping spaces were well maintained with easy access to the river, which had great spots to swim and for kids to play. The outdoor fire areas were well organised with good seating. Thanks to the owners John and Marianne for facilitating such a trouble-free and fun experience. Everyone is keen to book ahead for our next camp!

We stayed at Barrington River Lodge for the weekend with friends. What a beautiful property and an amazing set up. The lodge was warm and comfortable. The facilities were spotlessly clean. This is a great place to sit back relax and enjoy nature. We spent many hours just sitting by the river during the day and the large outdoor fire pit in the night. The lodge is the perfect pace to spend time with friends and family. Thanks for an awesome stay!!

We had a very relaxing weekend away with 5 families with kids from newborn to 10yo.
The sound of the river flowing or the fire crackling, the kids playing in the open field or building forts in the bush was so great! Perfect location to go down the rapids, it was so much fun.
The amenities were great for a bunkhouse. Everything was very clean and well maintained.
We mostly used the outdoor kitchen which had everything we needed, and that massive glass door fridge was perfect to fit food for all of us!
We have already started planning for our return.

Barrington River Lodge is an awesome place to retreat to. It is so peaceful being right by the Barrington River. The site is perfect for both camping and lodging. They have fantastic facilities with an outdoor undercover kitchen, bathrooms, indoor kitchen and living area for when you lodge and have large groups. Tenting it and going a little more bush is also really lovely. Absolutely recommend!

Stayed the weekend 25/11-27/11.

From the moment of first contact, we received such fabulous service from Tamara. From speaking about an upcoming event to having a quick birthday weekend getaway to view the property, nothing was left undone!

When we arrived, we knew exactly where to go. Then, we were greeted by the owners - John & Marianne - who were doing some work on the property. They knew of my birthday and bought a special little cake for us to enjoy! They gave us a tour of the property accomodation and facilities and were very much happy to answer any of our questions while the kids were running riot in the background. They also offered us some tubes to have fun with in the river.
The cabin has everything you need for a stay with lots of info of surrounding areas.
The property is wonderful, it’s a stones throw away from the town but quiet enough to enjoy the sound of the flowing river.
An absolute perfect weekend away and we will be booking for our event!

Such a beautiful location. They have clearly put a lot of work into looking after this place. The living space and kitchens were perfect for a group our size (12-15). The Air Con was definitely a plus at the beginning of January! It's not far to drive to the nearest shops if you forget something but it still gives the feel of being away from everything. Loved it!

We loved this place so much we came back just a couple months later. Well equipped lovely cabin in a beautiful spot by the Barrington River, close to the fabulously diverse Gloucester Tops were we walked and picnicked and paddled in the river. 10 minutes to Gloucester town which has a great genuine french patisserie, an excellent genuine Thai restaurant (even the lamb chops were superb) and a great little gallery and cafes. The best getaway.

My husband and I had a very pleasant stay here at Barrington River Lodge. We stayed at the Retreat Cabin, which is perfect for a couple👌Very clean, nicely designed, has everything you can think of. If you're after a relaxing getaway, this is a place for you. Spectacular views and relaxing atmosphere 😍 yet so many fun things to do. You can go kayaking on the river 🛶, make a 🔥 in the fire pit, go on a bushwalk 🌿 We did it all and made lots of pleasant memories. Highly recommend ✅

A beautiful retreat on the banks of the Barrington River. Wonderfully appointed and set up, making our stay easy and relaxing. Swim in the river and/or gather around the fire, depending on the season. Great communication, local information and customer service that was above and beyond.

We took a crew away to Barrington River Lodge to kick off the year, do some team building and have some fun. It was a great week away. The facilities are fantastic, the location is beautiful and the owners/Tamara were so hospitable in helping meet our needs.

BRL is an amazing place to disconnect, relax and unwind in a perfect bushland river setting with loved ones.

We had 21 adults use the lodge and every person loved it and want to return soon!

Can’t get enough of sitting in the rapids or floating down them and then meandering down the creek until you stop and reset to do it all again.
Beautiful and private surrounds with plenty of wildlife (heaps of different birds, two types of fish, kangaroos, eels and even platypus) will add some enchantment to your stay. Creek is leech free and almost crystal clear after a few days without rain.

Wifi wasn’t missed by anyone from our group and most people quickly became accustomed to ‘unplugged life’ but we had easy access to the decent wifi that is on offer is great in case of emergencies.

10/10 will visit again.

My family and I have stayed at Barrington River Lodge numerous times. We’ve stayed with large family gatherings, large groups and smaller groups. The kids love swimming in the river, s’mores by the fire, rope swing and getting to switch off from technology and into nature. Facilities are clean and a variety of accomodation options to choose from. The staff are amazing and helpful. Looking forward to our trip back soon.

A true gem and one of a kind location! The river frontage block nestled in the quiet hills of Barrington is the perfect place to unwind, connect and reclaim what matters most in life. The hosts know this and you can tell it is their absolute delight to share it with others searching for life to the full! 11/10

Its been a delight to stay at Barrington Tops River Lodge. It was an amazing place with the Barrington river right in the backyard at a stones throw. Everything was so well arranged. The place was very well equipped - fully functioning kitchen, bbq area, lounge, fire pit etc.

I would like to personally thank Tamara for constantly keeping in touch with us, guiding us on the places of interest in surrounding area and much more. Its been a privilege staying with you.

An excellent host, would definitely recommend this place to others without a doubt!

We were a family group of 26 and I had reserved 'The Lodge' for us from 26 - 30 Jan 2022, a total of 8 rooms with an option of a 9th room which had an ensuite but we didn't need it. Separate male and female bathrooms with 3 showers and 2 toilets in each and as we booked 'The Lodge', we had exclusive use of the outdoor kitchen along with the indoor kitchen but we didn't use this one as the outdoor kitchen was big enough for all our needs. The rooms and the facilities were immaculate and clean! The outdoor space is big and spacious, we held a family sports day and we played volleyball and cricket and all sorts of games. The kids absolutely enjoyed the firepit, we made smores and had a family gathering around this and we also roasted a whole pig for dinner on it. The lodge is also located next to the river and we had a blast kayaking and swimming in this river. Gloucester is about a 15min drive away where they have a Woolies and IGA and some pretty nice fish and chips from Harrys Tucker Shop and we had dinner at The Roundabout Inn. Tamara is an absolute Gem to deal with from beginning until the end, quick response and answered every question my family and I had and was very accommodating. Thank you so much Tamara for fitting us in at the last minute, my family and I had such a magical experience at Barrington River Lodge, we are all having withdrawals and missing our little home for those 4 days we spent there. We had expectations before we came and not only were they met but they were exceeded. We have all agreed, this has been the best family trip to date! We hope to see you again! xx

Our family had such a wonderfully cozy wintery weekend away at Barrington River Lodge! We didn’t want to leave. It was clean, comfortable, warm, and had everything we needed plus more. The outdoor kitchen was fantastic and made cooking bacon and egg rolls for 16 people for breakfast easy peasy lemon squeezey. Toasting marshmallows on the fire while listening to the watery sounds of river and the breeze tickling the gum leaves was a favourite moment and memory that will be cherished. A delightful few days celebrating family, in particular for Opa , Kees Ravesteyn , from South Australia to be united with his children,grandchildren and many great-grandchildren in the beauty of Barrington Lodge. Time to share stories of his long life with the little ones and enjoy their hugs and enthusiastic ,interested comments. .Time for lovely meals so generously supplied by his family in beautiful surroundings.Time for peace and rest as he needed it in our own cabin with all modern facilities for comfort.

It’s an amazing site with plenty of facilities for a crowd. We hired the whole venue and found it to suit our needs well. The river is beautiful, and refreshing in the hot summer days. Will be coming back soon!

Absolutely magical. Will be back for sure. It is practical, beautiful, the mud brick cabins are cool (simple as well). The best thing is the setting. It is just so beautiful.
