Royal Hotel

A wonderful old style country pub, with lots of heart and a great selection of wines, beers and spirits, along with good old fashioned Aussie bush hospitality. Staff are warm, kind and very accommodating, and locals are friendly and welcoming. It's in a lovely part of the world and a pleasant drive from the highway, with a great winding road through beautiful countryside, and worth the detour if you're taking an overnight break on your journey. The pool room and activities room with jukebox are more like a good mate's rumpus room and lots of fun, with video games and toys for the kids. Rooms are clean and bright, and beds are very comfortable. I'll definitely be back – a hidden but wonderful gem.

Had a great weekend at the Woodstock pub! It's a real hidden gem in the Central West. The staff were amazing and they've done a fantastic renovation of the entire pub, while still maintaining the old rustic feel. The meals are awesome and very reasonably priced. The rooms are very clean and also renovated perfectly to give a fresh, clean feel. I cannot think of a better country pub I've stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot of them!

Another weekend spent at this beautiful little pub. Clean rooms, good food and perfectly poured beer. Loved the service and the serenity of this place.

I can't speak for the rooms. Didn't see these. The pub has great atmosphere. It's an interesting old "rabbit warren" of a building. The extensive beer garden has heaps of atmosphere and the food was tremendous.

Never went in but took a long distance photo of this lovely old building in a classic Aussie country town. Hopefully it stays in business but I had no time to stay.

What a fantastic pub! Food is great, beer is cold, rooms are clean. We had a fun time with the family. Huge beer garden with grassed area to lounge around on and the kids loved the games room!

Came out here on a motorbike ride. The lady who runs the place is really friendly and accommodating. Good food and atmosphere.

We haven’t eaten here for some time and so when the opportunity arose to go for lunch with friends, we jumped at it.

There was quite a range of lunch options from a roast lunch option of chicken or beef (selected by my husband) through burgers and some fish and seafood options. Yeah 😊 I selected the seafood basket, and our friends had the grilled chicken and burger with the lot (huge) and all with chips. All lunches were served promptly and were hot upon arrival, tasty and good value.

Totally amazed by one of their red wine offerings – from the “Sit Stay Society Wines” in a handy sharing ‘lunch-sized’ 375ml Max’s Cabernet Malbec. Not only was the wine very good but what a fabulous idea to support PetRescue! Wish that we could have drunk more!

Friendly staff, warm room (fire and a/c) and good food and wine made for an excellent lunch.

Stayed overnight at this wonderful country hotel on the way home from Philip Island.
Rooms and facilities are top class, all renovated including the shared bathrooms in the old style.
Pizza and cold beer sundowners on the verandah with the bike parked out front, doesn’t get any better than this.

Gorgeous place! Excellent food and the prices were reasonable, friendly staff, great beer garden and kids playground. Extra thumbs up for the stash of nappies and wipes at the baby change table!

This is a very rural destination and that's what I love about it. Extremely peaceful, great food, good service and cold beer.

Recently (May 2018) I spent a weekend there with four mates. We were welcomed warmly after a cold wet ride from Canberra. The fire was stoked, beer was cold, and we settled in for lunch and a great evening including a very nice dinner. Hired a room overnight for four. Room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Shared bathroom was very good. We cooked our own breakfast next morning and the hotel provided a gas bbq for us. An excellent spot for a great weekend away. Could not ask for anything else, and the staff could not do too much for us. Thankyou Kate and family. PS. I was last at the hotel sometime around 1983. It has been partly rebuilt, and I look forward to seeing the completion.

Wow, the place has got a real sparkle to it. It's in great repair and cleanliness with the food and drinks excellent.
