Das Neumann Haus

I highly recommend seeing this little museum, Das Neumann Haus. It is well organized and has a coffee shop for you to enjoy Coffee with the cake and a light lunch. I have bought Pure Honey to help local businesses and very good. The price is acceptable.

A boutique Cafe in the quiet little hamlet of Laidley just west of Brisbane city. Shaded by enormous trees with outdoor dining and a very rural selection of food there is no better place in this region to have a relaxing morning or afternoon tea. The personal traditional service is just wonderful. Day Neumann Haus is worth more than one visit.

Super busy for Laidley Spring festival but despite being run off their feet the Volunteer staff kept smiling and provided wonderful service. Recommend their Devonshire Tea. Also provides great history within the building.

Visited on a whim for late lunch and, literally as we walked up, the doors were being closed. It turns out there hadn't been a single visitor for two hours so the staff were calling it a day.

However, and to our pleasant surprise, a quick discussion led to us being given entry, not just for a wander through the house but also for food and coffee.

To sum up our experience, the staff (volunteers, I believe) were awesome. They were down-to-earth, friendly, funny and very accommodating.

The home itself was interesting, and detailed life of an era past. Explore the bedrooms, kitchen and even music room, and experience tools, utensils, furniture and instruments from yesteryear. There are also dozens of photos to appreciate.

And, last but not least, our chicken & cheese toasties were yummy and the apple strudel (with cream AND ice cream) was delicious. I'd go back for that alone!

If you're up for a quick slice of local history and some inexpensive food and drinks, pop into Das Neumann Haus. It's a great way to unwind for an hour and fill your belly.

Fantastic place to visit. Very friendly and helpful staff. So much to look at and listen to. Great food and drinks as well as home made jams chutneys and local honey for sale.

Cute little museum with free admission. The cafe on the verandah is nice for Devonshire tea. The staff are lovely.

A very interesting place to visit, seeing some real heritage that free to see. All along with a very tasty morning tea, served with country hospitality, at very reasonable prices.
