The Paddock Restaurant

Easily a top 5 restaurant on the Gold Coast, a culinary destination well worth the drive from Brisbane! My visit to Paddock Restaurant in December 2022 was a forgettable experience, a stark contrast to today’s lunch. With new chefs leading the kitchen (formidable husband-wife duo Chris and Alex Norman who both need no introduction to food enthusiasts), all five courses of the $115 Paddock Menu we enjoyed today were outstanding. Taste, texture, presentation - it was a privilege to see our local produce be executed to this high standard.

The serene hinterland setting is so beautiful and inviting, and special mention to restaurant manager Jack who was impeccably versed on the menu, the estate and was a joy to interact with.

All in all, a must-visit whether for a getaway or a leisurely lunch/dinner - I look forward to returning and seeing how Chefs Chris and Alex and their team continue to elevate the Paddock Restaurant experience!

My husband and I celebrated my birthday at the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience from the views, to the cocktails and the meals everything was exceptional. Staff were lovely, knowledgeable and polite. Although the price may not be for everyone I thought the prices are comparable to other high end places I've been to.

What a beautiful location and amazing surprise at the quality of the food. We came on a quiet day and had the whole place almost to ourselves. You immediately feel relaxed in such gorgeous surroundings. The food was outstanding, with unique flavours, and cooked to perfection. We loved the use of farm to table and native ingredients as well.

My husband took me to Paddock for my birthday this year and it was a truly memorable mid-week lunch.

The venue is like stepping into another world where immediately your cares slip away and you're soothed by the subtle acoustic music blending with the sounds of nature. The dining room is tastefully styled and the many fire places and pits would be gorgeous in winter and at night. The indoor/outdoor flow feels like you're staying at a grand country estate.*

Phillipe and Nico were both attentive, charming and consummate professionals - adding to the overall atmosphere of being somewhere special.

And the food - we had the five course degustation and every mouthful was a sublime delight. From the meticulous presentation, to the clever curation of the journey of the meal, through to the thoughtful combination of elements in each and every dish, the experience was faultless.

The touch of both the freshly baked rolls and whipped butter to start, together with handmade chocolates and a Sherry on the house for my birthday were old school nods to 5 star treatment.

Paddock, you are a shining jewel in the Gold Coast dining crown. On my must-dine Top 3 for the GC. Can't wait to experience it all again soon. Keep being awesome until next time.

SUNDAY lunch at The Paddock Restaurant
OMG we went to heaven and back. The premises were beautiful sitting by the fireplace, overlooking the fabulous views, the gourmet food was absolutely amazing and the service superb. Everything perfect.
This was a fantastic day with a great ambience.
I highly recommend you have a nice Sunday drive up to Beechmont and have lunch there.

The food, service and atmosphere is something I will not forget, an all round amazing experience!

From start to finish the wait staff were attentive and very helpful, the food was fantastic and considering the quality delivered was reasonably priced. I cannot wait to come back again soon!

Perfect anniversary dinner. We had the chefs choice menu and loved being surprised with each dish. Full of flavour and clearly prepared with passion for the ingredients. Atmosphere was beautiful, with comfortable seating, candles and outdoor fire pit. Adam our waiter showed genuine care, was knowledgeable but down to earth (very refreshing). It was the type of fine dining that left us fully satisfied and dreaming up our next excuse to come back. Great work everyone!

Stayed at the estate and taken by surprise with the quality of the dishes available.

The star out of all the dishes we had was the wagyu cap. A must try.
The desserts were also note worthy.

I am not a fancy food person by any means and was a little concerned when I read the menu. All my concerns were pointless when I actually finished my meal. Entire dinner was delicious.
Breakfast was a little underwhelming though, but all in all I enjoyed the food.
The waiters were great and didn't miss a thing and were very attentive to your wants and needs.

Absolutely perfect afternoon. We opted for chefs choice and I’m so glad we did, you could feel the joy of the chefs artistry in his food. Divine to taste and unique in its creation. We all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon thanks to superb service, setting and cuisine. Even with a table of 14 exquisite dining was achieved. Thank you all.

We came earlier for sunset to have a couple of drinks for dinner and the view did not disappoint. It was an incredible dinner as well, we had the Paddock Chef’s table recommendation.

The meal and service was faultless, add the ambience and view and you have the mix of a most enjoyable lunch in a world class restaurant.

A visit to The Paddock restaurant is not just a meal, but an experience in itself. The stunning grounds at Hazelwood Estate have a welcoming and comforting atmosphere, with service that is unmatched. Our beautifully presented meals did not disappoint and were the best we have tasted in a long time. I would highly recommend a visit to the team at Hazelwood.

What a wonderful place, really great food with some amazing flavours , superb service and produce sourced within 2 hours of the restaurant. Fine dining in Beechmont, what a sensational lunch we had!

My wife and I I drove down off Mt Tambourine to return to the Paddock after enjoying an excellent dinner there 12 mths earlier.

The food, ambience and outlook were excellent - definitely worth the drive through the rain and windy roads.

The service left us more than disappointed. Over 30 min for seating to get our first drinks to our side order being mixed up. Nothing more than a standard “sorry” offered without any reason.

Pretty sure we won’t be back, even though our meals were, again, excellent.

We stayed at the estate and food was included. Overall enjoyed the food. Some things were nicer than others. The menu is constantly varying depending on what’s available which is good because we ate here over 5 meals it was always different. The only meal that was a bit strange was the pork/ potato ribbon dish on the tasting menu but there wasn’t any pork! The wait staff didn’t know or couldn’t explain it either… other than that dish everything else was nice
