Great place. We camped for a few nights. It was slightly hard to find a spot for tents as most visitors have caravans with large 4WDs. They take up a lot of space but we managed to squeeze in. A very quiet place with families who go to sleep early.
As it's an open space it can be hard to get away from the strong winds that come through on windy days. Make sure you secure your tents, gazebos and stuff. The wind bent our gazebo and we had to throw it out. The tent felt like it was about to lift off at any moment when the winds were over 50km/hr.
The beach is beautiful, water is crystal clear and shallow (similar to a safey beach). The beach is great for long walks.
There are two drop toilets. One closer to the entrance (original older toilet) and other towards the end (newer). Bring your toilet paper and sanitisers. The water facet is small and has no pressure for any water to come out.
There's a full fire ban during summer periods. Bring warm clothes on colder days and leave the wood fire or bbqs requiring coal and fires at home.
Food or product wise - stock up because the local stores might not have what you need or is over an hour away.
Dog friendly area as well. There are no picnic areas around.

Quite spot, unlike some of the other camps on the Peninsula. There was approx. 10 campers there Aust day long weekend. Variety of sea life in the reef at night during low tide.

There are 3 areas to this campsite. The left side of track is for bush camping the right side of track is for day use only. Just past the day use area there is a little track going north and hidden behind the surrounding dunes is an isolated campsite. Open facing to the ocean. Can be windy on westerly winds. Can fit 3 vans easily if your a group. Great spot if your self sufficient. We were lucky there were no campers anywhere due to the cold weather. Fishing is the go here. And a small beach if no seaweed around . Loved it. 10/10

There is 2 options to camp here. On the big open area or there is a smaller protected area to the right when you pull in.
A few mice around on the open area. Windy when we were there, but a lovely area.

Good for overnighter or the self contained perhaps with a boat as the boat ramp is ok

There is an old lady controlling local council especially Phillip. She has the council not allowing campers to camp on the best area which is flat and having to find on the uneven area. This so unfair on people wanting to spend time at Minlacowie bush camp.
