Great trip enjoyed by our group. Lots of white caps, yet the journey was as smooth as anything, and quick. A wonderful day spent in Portarlington, with the return journey just as impressive as the trip over. Great views of the West gate and Bolte bridges.

Port Arlington is super quaint, old fashioned and pretty. Didn't get to go to wineries but quite a few tour groups headed there.
Always get a snack on board as they have great cashew crisp mix.
Ferry is clean and crew are helpful.
Be warned Portarlington is superhilly, so wear sensible shoes

Can recommend this trip. We decided to do a day trip into Docklands Melbourne from Portarlington on the ferry. It was a Tuesday at 9am when we boarded. It wasn’t crowded and there was plenty of comfortable seating available. It was a fast smooth trip and we got coffee and cake onboard at a cost from the cafe. Arriving at docklands there was heaps to do to fill in our day before returning for the 530pm home. There were a lot more people on the return trip as the duly commuters were all making their way home but we still managed to get a seat. A glass of wine was nice to end our day as the ferry pulled out of docklands giving us amazing views of the city. If you are living in Melbourne they offer return trips to do the wineries on the peninsula. Check out all the offers. We had a wonderful time for little cost

What a great trip! Seamless entry and an Absolute Cafe Boss! Imgoen killed it behind the sticks, being left on her own to run the whole service, while coffees were flowing freely! No matter how busy it was, Imogen maintained professionalism and a sense of fun for the patrons. Thanks team!

What a lovely way to visit the Bellarine Peninsula. Booking tickets on their website was simple but you can also get tickets at the docks. Boarding and embarking from the ferry was very civil and well organised.

I recently traveled from Melbourne to Port Arlington and back on the Ferry.
I booked the return trip online which was straight forward.
At the Melbourne end there is a cafe to wait in until the Ferry is ready to board. The terminal is located directly opposite Marvel Stadium and there were a couple of bike racks at the cafe entrance, one of which I used as I rode there.
I locked my bike there for the day as I wasn't going to use it at Port Arlington.
On boarding the ferry the attendant at the gangway just asked for my name and checked me off on a tablet so I didn't need to show my e ticket which I had in my wallet. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The ferry departed on time and the ride was very comfortable. It was quite windy and the sea was choppy but the ferry ride was very stable so no hint of sea sickness for me.
The return trip at 4pm was the same.
All up I recommend the trip. The time it takes is probably about the same as driving when you take into account getting to the ferry but it is a relaxing ride compared to driving and at $34 return (seniors) I thought it was good value.

This was a very enjoyable first experience on Port Phillip Ferries to Portarlington and back to Docklands. The ferry was on schedule and was very clean and well appointed. The staff were courteous and helpful, and we would definitely take the trip across the bay again.

When I need a stress free way to get back & forth to Melbourne CBD (and don’t want to deal with traffic) this 70 minute ferry is the perfect solution. Highly recommend.

We found the whole booking experience (Mellody, I think) friendly, professional and easy. Our trip was hassle free and extremely pleasant, a great way to spend a day getting out and exploring Victoria. I would recommend this service and wish the business every success. It is great to see such important Australian innovators and entrepreneurs providing a great service to Victorians, we need more people like this in business today, Australian owned and operated providing local jobs. A big pat on the back and they need our support, well done.

Absolutely love my cruisy commute to Melbourne every week. I have one suggestion though: the lovely young lady in the cafe looking after us needs a proper chair to rest her legs occasionally. Could we please gift her a comfy seat for Christmas?

Took the Ferry to go to work for a day. The staff and amenities are fabulous! Glad the weather was great though as I certainly felt sea sick on the return leg! Steer clear of a beer at the start just in case!

At 70 mins, this is the quickest and best way to travel from Portarlington to the CBD. A very friendly crew and a usually smooth ride which arrives opposite Etihad stadium in Docklands. Free onboard internet allows you to work from the ferry as well!.

To travel across the Bay to Melbourne is the most relaxing, no stress way.
The Staff are very competent and professional.
I use the Ferry quite regularly to go from Portarlington to Melbourne and even if the bay is a little choppy, I always know I'm in good hands.
Congratulations to all the Staff on Port Phillip Ferries for providing an excellent service!

Such an amazing service - the morning commute is a joy to watch the sunrise with a coffee in hand, getting a jump on work emails before the day ahead.
Staff are so professional and friendly, and on the odd occasion where the bay is not so kind the staff are exceptional with people who struggle with motion sickness. A top class service and provides the ability to live in a beautiful serene place but still work in the CBD.
