Bak Kut Teh King Box Hill

I always order one bakkutteh and one Chinese Brocoolie and add some extra mushroom. And eat with a bowl of rice. (For two people to share.) We love vegetables and mushrooms, and this is the perfect combination for us.

The pork meat is so tender and the broth is full of flavour. The serving of Chinese Broccoli is huge, and it is so crunchy and nice. I usually prefer white steamed rice everywhere else, but here, I like their onion rice too because it is just so good.

All the food and atmosphere are nice, staffs are super kind. I love this place so much, and I'd love to go over and over again.

Honestly this place reminds me of the Bak Kut Teh i ate growing up in Klang. The flavours of the Signature broth not overly herby or salty, they come served in the traditional clay pots, and the atmosphere of the restaurant transported me back to Malaysia. The restaurant was busy with mostly Malaysians, i can tell from their accents, and it made me feel like i was home.

I love that there is an option for combination meat cuts - we got some lean meat, pork belly, cartilage, ribs and stomach! It was the perfect combo if you can’t decide (or don’t want to settle on one!). Everything was super tender and easy to eat, even the cartilage! Would highly recommend enjoying this with some fresh garlic and chillies that you can help yourself to.

Pokari one was great as well! The pork belly super tender and was packed with so much flavour from the slow cooking. Simply wonderful and will definitely melt in your mouth. Even though it’s cooked with dried chillies, i don’t think the dish was spicy at all.
Do note that this thick soy sauce is very salty and i wouldn’t recommend drenching your rice with it.

Get the onion rice! It tastes so much better and that’s the more authentic way to go. The onion oil and fried onions that is mixed throughout makes the rice so much more oily, fragrant and really complements the flavour. Nothing beats! Simply could not get enough.

The chinese doughnuts were super crispy! I love soaking mine in the hot broth so it softens a little, but still stays mainly crispy. It’s so good when you’re chewing it and the broth gets squeezed out.

Overall, a really good experience. Definitely found my favourite BKT spot in Melbourne! Staff were super kind and friendly, they made us feel very welcomed. Will be back to try the Dry BKT next!

Delicious authentic food! Table was too small for us. Couldn't fault the signature BKT and Dry BKT. Love it. Free flow chopped garlic and chilli.. perfect companion. Yum!

We used to go to Auntie Franklee to get our bak kut teh fix, usually after watching someone eating bak kut teh in Malaysia on Youtube. So this time we decided to try something different. We have passed this place many times but have not got the chance to try. We really like it. Different than Auntie Franklee, where this one has less herby taste which I quite enjoy. I also like they offer the option which cut of meat you’d like. We do not really like fatty meat so we just ordered the ribs. I love the sides. Pretty generous. We ordered the Chinese doughnuts, tofu and shiitake mushrooms for the sides and basic bak kut teh for 2 (medium size). My recommendation is to get plain rice instead of the garlic rice. Definitely we will come back here again to get our fix. Next time we will try the dry bak kut teh. Highly recommended. If you like this review please hit the like button.

Super delicious! Just felt like BKT at home in Malaysia! Definitely worth the drive to travel for this craving😀 You can even request to top up additional “hot soup” as we commonly do back in Malaysia. Veggie servings are huge. Fast service despite having a busy crowd. Will come back again!

Great taste of bak out ten soup, actually came last night was fully full so came back again for lunch. Friendly staff with reasonable prices of dishes. But I had a much strong flavor bak kit teh in Malaysia compared to this. In general I definitely will come back when in Box Hill.

Comfort food when you cannot travel to Malaysia for this. Was recommended by a friend from Penang, who said it was authentic and authentic it is indeed. I must say the soup if very "clean" for this dish is supposed to be oily. The onion rice is good and the vegetables is freshly prepared. Staff kept my bubs entertained whenever they served food, got us a baby seat and parked his pram on the side for us when we are helping bubs on the seat...so that is amazing customer service. Overall experience is great!

This bak kut teh is the best of the best with Malaysian flavors. This restaurant was from a famous bak kut teh restaurant originally. Their original bak kut teh soup have herbal flavors and not very strong, serve in claypot. The mixed pork meat are very soft, fall of from bones. They also come with dry tofu skin. Lots of extra mushroom, tofu and Chinese donuts can add. They also have dry version as well chicken and vegetarian version. Onion oil rice is a must to have. Lots of indoor table. Staff are friendly. Seating comfortable and very clean. Plenty of parking nearby. This restaurant is on main road. Very convenient with box hill train station, which is just nearby. Bus stop nearby too.

Good authentic bak kut teh! Well priced and staff service was great. Goes excellent with the onion flavoured rice. Soup was flavoursome and as a Malaysian myself, I’d be back again for sure.

Delicious food. Couldn't fault. The Bak let teh was delicious, aromatic, thick with flavours and texture. The meat was tender, enough fat. The beef egg fried noodles was also a winner and good value. The beef was tender and memorable. Yum!

Can confirm this is the best place to eat Bak Kut Teh in the entire Australia. You will get a lingering fatty aftertaste after drinking the soup broth. It's pricey but can definitely confirm that it's worth it.

What a hearty meal. Thought the portions were too small, but it turns out to be quite filling.

I am Malaysian . The “oil rice” isn’t the ordinary oil rice you can find elsewhere, really much than what I expected. The BKT is really authentic as you would eat in Malaysia.

While not the exact as the original, it holds close to it. With both soup and dry variants, chicken and vegetarian options too. If you like bak kut teh, you must try this place yourself!
